this is embarrassing.. just got my 2018 RT (it's a stick) and only put about 40 miles on it before this started happening. I'm good at driving stick but this is my first brand new manual car so I'm not necessarily a pro with it yet. The light turned green and it caught me by surprise and I stalled. I started it back up and immediately started driving and sure enough there was a noise. Right when I let off the gas, before I shift there is a loud metallic spinning horrible noise. I'm assuming it's something clutch/trans based since it happened after I stalled. What is it

probably have the dealer take a look

there have been (rare) instances where the perimeter ring (dampener?) on the clutch disc has failed / separated

Sudden changes in sounds or new ones to appear aren't normal. Stalling an engine wouldn't damage a clutch...
