Hey guys, I want to make my 17 Challenger RT sound louder and meaner. I always watch RacerX on youtube and he recommends mid muffler delete. As I look into it, I came across the Racer Bullets and Vibrants. What would you guys recommend? I live in the mountains upstate New York so my neighbors are a bit far away.

I must say that I haven't heard any of them in real life so my opinion is probably worthless.. but as I have also done quite a lot of internet research on this matter, in my opinion the mid muffler delete makes it sound better in idle but introduces too much high pitch raspiness on acceleration. From what I have heard, for deeper tone, the vibrants are better than bullets and I almost ordered them for my R/T. But now recently I have stumbled upon Flowmaster Super 44's and it might be that they are even better at delivering the low V8 rumble that I am personally looking for. In my case (as I live in an apartment), I'm not looking for something too loud. Just want to boost the lows.
But once again, this is all internet knowledge and real life might differ.

I did the mid muffler delete with race bullets, and kept the rear resonators. I also installed the MFER-1 active exhaust fix. I couldn't be happier. No raspiness at full throttle, excellent gurgles and pops down shifting. I admit the cold starts are pretty loud, since I don't really like my neighbors I don't care how loud they are.

After allot of home work I decide on the mid delete and Dyna Max Mini Race Bullets. Leaving the resonators. Want the active valves to stay open? Easy, Sport or Track Mode! Going on next Thursday!

Where did you get the race bullets? I think this would be my go to as opposed to eliminating a muffler completely.

Thanks!

I did the mid muffler delete and added the 24250 Dynomax Race Bullets. I bought them through Amazon. I'm not completely happy with the sound of the Dynomax. Under full acceleration they are a little too raspy for my liking. And after listening to several youtube videos I think the Vibrant 1794's sound deeper...to me.

If I had to do it all over again I would remove my stock exhaust and install a cat back system. Honestly, I feel sort of bad that I butchered my stock exhaust. I kept the oem mufflers and they can be welded back in place but it's just not the same.

I listened to many sound clips of both the race bullets and vibrants. To me the vibrants sounded kinda flat, and the bullets were not raspy at all to me. Some of the cat back systems I've heard are quite raspy. Its all a matter of personal taste. Id love to hear what my car sounds like from the outside, but I don't trust anyone to drive my car.

I live in a circle with 5 houses, including mine. Since my Dina Max Mini's is being done next week I warned the 3 neighbors I like. The other one can gnaw on his own malice. (I bought a shotgun one time and carrying it into my house he saw me and called the Po Po on me for brandishing a firearm!)
Luckily, being retired I don't start my car (or anything else) early!

I did a cat back replacement with Flowmaster American Thunder. Nice, except there is drone at low RPM when in MDS mode. It was one of the lowest cost alternatives.

Consider removing the mid mufflers and install Flowmaster Super 10’s. And remove the rear resonators. Mean ad hell. Love the sound. Especially when the valves are open

Well, c**p. No mufflers. Auto shop owner who was going to do them was out sick and shop didn't let me know. Showed up at 5:30 PM as scheduled with wife in tow to give me a ride home. Not going back. I need to find a performance center in the Huntsville, Al. area that works on Challengers. When I went in to set my appt and the shop owner had to Google everything I wanted done it was a red flag to me anyway. May have been a blessing in disguise.

Glad you like it. I can’t believe how much more it is up north to get things done. I had some Flowmaster Super 10’s installed where the mid mufflers were and had the rear resonators removed. Charged me $175. But all things are cheaper in Florida. 😂

You need a good muffler shop nearby. Good luck.
Oh boy, do I! The only muffler shop on my end of town doesn't even have a welder or anyone who could use it if they did. Not gonna let them clamp everything together. I think I will try and contact a local car club (Mopar?) and see who they can recommend from experience. Tired of dealing with people who work on Camrys, Accords, Mazdas etc. I need a specialist!

I know what you mean. Import scene everywhere. Lol. You might just have to drive a little further for good quality. And a good welder is a must. I wish you the best bud. When you finally get them on. Take some pics and vids. 👍🏻 Here’s mine after the install. Nice and clean.
