I have a 2010 RT Classic 6speed. I eliminated the resonators in the rear , moved the small cat conv. looking mufflers to the rear. Sounds real good. Lined the truck with Lowe's peel and stick.
I have a drone in 6th gear on the highway. Around 2000 rpm. Around town it's perfect. Hit the highway....I keep it in fifth.
My question is....where would I install J tubes...or weighted dampners on my exhaust ?

2K is the "sweet spot" for drone to occur - more so when the engine is loaded (going up grades, etc). Based on ignition timing / VVT timing and % of throttle the exhaust pitch will change around, but load them up at <2.5K and you'll hear it.

The stock '15-current 392 exhaust will do that as well, probably the same for the '17+ 5.7s that went to AES as well. Noticeably louder than the '14 and earlier setups.

The J-pipes (Solo) have the provision to adjust the length (like the slide on a trombone) to tune the exhaust characteristics to minimize drone.
