Glad to see the positive comments from Motor Trend, they can be rather biased... it's also worth noting that they got those numbers, not only on the street, but starting in 2nd gear without LC. Sticky tires with driver mod and starting in first, on a real track, with or without launch control, should give some interesting times.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat First Test - Motor Trend

Non-mobile friendly version of the article.

doesn't sound all that great to me, sounds like he is saying it may be faster than ford or chevy but they handle much much better.
"Conclusion. Get some fatter, stickier rear meats for the Challenger Hellcat and it really does have the intestinal fortitude to embarrass cars costing double and triple the price. A retired and wheeled Hellcat would probably smack that Shelby around pretty good, too. Until then, Hellcat owners can happily chew on the knowledge that the next cheapest 700-horsepower steed in existence is the $322,638, 731-hp Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. More important, I've driven both cars and would much rather drive the Hellcat. I've also spent a great deal of time in the Shelby GT500. And the Viper. And the ZL1. Hellcat, hands down. Hats off to the Dodge boys. They've built an all-timer."

Sounds like a good verdict to me. Yes, the Hellcat will not decimate all on a road-course, we know that. And if you try to make it a track-day car, as the article rightly points out, you're missing the point. With that said, even though on paper you'd think it wouldn't handle well, it actually does:

"If you really must know, the Hellcat can be wanged around our figure-eight course in 24.7 seconds. That's the exact same time as an Alfa Romeo 4C, actually."

The HC has all season tires? I thought it only came with summer high performance tires? Yeah,...get rid of those all seasons quick!!! lol
Yeah,...those Goodyucks on the GT500 weren't much better, but at least they are a performance tire and not an all season tire.
Pirelli Pzero Nero all-seasons are standard, with Pirelli Pzero summer tires optional. And not all all-season tires are bad. My Michelin Pilot Sport AS3s are pretty damn good, all things considered.

All seasons aren't close to a good Summer tire though. Even summer tires sometimes aren't that great compared to competition street tires like the P Corsa zero or the newer Michelin sport cup tires. I looked at the P Zero Neros on tire rack and from what I see they really don't look as sticky as a lot of the Michelin tires. I have the Pilot sport PS2 on my CTS-V and they are ok but after adding power they just don't have a chance.
I agree, I'm just saying for an all season, the Michelin is pretty damn good. Each tire serves it's purpose, and all tires have a compromise somewhere. In no way did I mean that it would be as good as a summer tire for pure grip, and obviously nowhere near a competition tire. But I won't be pushing my car 100% all of the time, so a good all season will be enough for me initially, and maybe get a 2nd set of rims later with a stickier tire for when I want it.
