My thoughts are it’s gonna need a new seal of some sorts. You shouldn’t wait on this one.
To that point if they weren't careful with the torque converter when doing the swap that seal could have posiibly been damaged

Are you sure it is not oil. I have replaced many oil filter / oil cooler assemblies on 3.6 liter engines. When this assembly is leaking, it runs over the bellhousing and might be mistaken for a transmission leak. Also, the electrical connector for the NAG 1 is near the bellhousing, on the passenger side. The connector can leak trans fluid, this was a common leak on these transmissions.
