Today my key fob read "low battery" after washing the car.

Came home, changed the battery but still does not work.
Tried two other batteries- CR2032.
Got other fob from drawer and it does not work either.

My question is:
Does this fob take a special Panasonic battery?
The three I tried were not Panasonic but read 3.3 Volts.
Old batts read 2.98 volts...

When i try to use the mechanical key the alarm goes off if the doors are locked.

Advice Needed!

Battery brand makes no difference, all your batteries brand new? Try disconnecting car battery for a few minutes and see if it resets the system?
You’re sure you have the button battery facing the correct direction?

Thanks YJ.
Yes i tried the battery both ways but it is supposed to be installed + side down.

Is there a reset for the fob other than trying to pull the battery calbe?

What about the alarm?

seems silly for it to go off when you use the mechanical key....

Not aware of any reset, I just opened my fob to see which side of a button battery the + side is.
Now I’m starting to think I remember a post of someone having an electrical gremlin after spraying the car down.
I’m starting to remember there was a component that was affected. I’ll see if I can find it.

UPDATE:

Went to parts store and bought 2 new energizer batteries.
Both key fobs work fine now.
I have had some items that just do not work right with cheapo batteries.
Guess the key fobs are one of those....

THANKS YJ!

Hey, great news update. Good thing it was the batteries and not a component in the car that failed.
