The wife is getting me the Petty strut tower brace in PCP for my birthday next month and I wanted to add some other under hood accessories but I'm having a hard time finding items that match the color of my car.

All of the accessories I've seen posted on other PCP cars seems to be more pink then PCP.

Has anyone found darker anodized accessory like Catch cans and power steering covers that closely match PCP?

Any help (links) would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe you'll find any anodizing that matches PCP. Even BT admits that their purple does not match PCP. The BT pieces that I have seen look more pink than purple.

Aluminum can't be powder coated, and paint doesn't stick well to aluminum without a lot of prep work.

Aluminium can be powder coated, but you do have to scuff it up to get the powder to adhere. I powdercoated some caps awhile back and they turned out just fine.

I thought powdercoating was magnetizing the metal and the particles in the paint so that the two would adhere. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think aluminum could be be magnetized.

The charge is achieved by affixing a metal wire to the cap itself (with a piece of tape on the underside. Setting it on a metal grill also helps. The powder will adhere sufficiently to be able to bake it. BTDT

I've also painted my B/T caps. Use self etching primer (light coat), followed by spray paint.. Worked fine.

Maybe whenever I have time and a way to record it, I'll demonstrate it.

Thanks guys, I may have to go that route and have items powder coated. May round up all the parts and have them done all at once.

Again thanks everyone for the feedback.

(PS) I may have put this in the wrong section...

I stand corrected. I didn't think the aluminum would conduct enough of a charge to be powder coated.
