ResumeSpeed, when will the automatic get extra gears? It should be noted even the Avenger now has a 6 speed automatic. Any future plans to produce a 413 or 426 cubic inch Hemi someday? Any chance the Challenger will get the Charger's dash layout prior to 2014?
Agree with that suggestion. But it seems like Dodge are still undecided about colors - e.g. do we have Midnight Blue or not?
Saw midnight blue last night at the dealer on a 2011.5 Ram looks just like the old Patriot Blue
:scratchhead:
The RHR is required due to supply issues on the Garmin 430N.
RS what about the Rag Top and Sublime when will they be out in 2012?
Haven't seen any sign of a ragtop, definitely not 2012 model year. No word on Sublime either.
RS - Any insight on the bump in price for the CLASSIC versus 2011 pricing????
Better to wait until firm pricing is released (late July) for comparison as prices and some of the equipment configurations may change.

Last I checked 2013 is scheduled to be the last model year for the current generation, I doubt that they would change transmissions or make major interior changes for one model year. As for a 2nd gen Challenger, have not seen any details yet. No sign of a 413 or 426, but I can tell you that the SRT8 engineers are currently working on "more power", which *might* explain the "low" numbers for the current 6.4L.
RS: I thought Dodge was replacing Redline 3 with Torred for 2012?
Redline 3 for now, don't know if they will offer Torred in the future.

STOP THE PRESSES!

This bolded quote deserves its own thread.

RS (aka: Ralph Gilles or Ralph Gilles' BFF), really, you gotta go and do THAT to us?!?! What's the "rumor" mill in Detroit saying about this "more power"???

You might as well spill some more beans, as we'll just keep hounding you and making your internet life a living hell.

Damn RS if you aren't just the biggest tease on this forum. Will this "more power" be coming in MY 2012 or do we have to wait for 2013?

I realize that the last thing Dodge needs is for everyone to wait to purchase--they need sales now to justify improvements for the future, but holy schnikes if this doesn't put the hurry-up-and-wait-some-more bug in me.
Let's keep in tradition of the '11 bashing... "Bla bla bla '12's suck, the colors suck, the 392 isn't that impressive yadda yadda" :)

Boy I hope they add like another 50 horsepower, maybe then some of these cronies here will pony up some cash and upgrade from their '10 or earlier models :D
More power??? That better be a PCM flash the 2011's can take. :)
Thanks for the reply Resume Speed. I predict this more power would come from either direct injection or a supercharger or both. Direct injection would help fuel economy and boost power so would an extra gear in the automatic trans. Please tell them not to ruin the look of the car on the second generation car if it will actually be produced. Rather, an evolution of the current design would be good, much like the 2011 Charger vs the 2010. Wife gave me the green light to get a 392, but she said it has to be an auto for her to sign the paperwork. If they made a supercharged Challenger, I probably would not buy it anyway because it would be too expensive. Way TOO much power for a daily driver anyway. We are thinking of getting a 2011 black/silver striped 392 because I like the metallic black and can probably get a pretty good deal on one pretty soon. We'll see. Thanks for bringing a brighter orange back though.
Retire the 5.7L from the challenger lineup. Make the 392 the R/T. Put a TC'd Al 426 in the SRT. Result: smiles all around.

SE: 305HP
R/T: 470HP
SRT8: 635HP

Now that would be a nice, even gradient for the stables.

(Note: this is *highly* unlikely given previous comments from RS and a few others. Merely wishful thinking.)
Yep, that's definitely what we need - a $45k R/T and a $65k SRT8.:disgust:
I'd think there'll be a 10-15 HP bump from engine management refinements, if anything... do any of you seriously expect Dodge to SHOCK you with a huge improvement from their big improvement of just one year ago? LMAO (LMAO in a sinister, mocking tone).

It'll be some tweaking, that's it... but it will be factory backed tweaking!!!
No matter what Dodge does I will be keeping my GWE 392......but I can always add a "sibling" :).......Cuda coming...... Cuda coming!!!!!

Or maybe they'll finally rate the 392 on what hp it really puts out
