Works for me.

A little bit off topic, but I'd like to see one on a smaller platform, styled after the '67-'69 fastback. The one with the huge rear window.
I'm wondering what kind of fuel mileage a 5.7 in a 3500 lb car would get.
You know it would fly. And that's not even considering the SRT motors.
0 chance they would go with the 67-69 look

if they want it a Chrysler Cuda works just fine...its just a name....

if they are just going to tweak the Challenger body to a 1970 Cuda do you think they could get another 8 years out of the exact same body? at some point everyone who's going to buy a car will have bought one...you cant keep making the same car for 16 years (8 years Challenger/8 years cuda)....

i dont doubt they will do it.....maybe 2013-2014 and then call it all quits

That will not happen with the Challenger. Only a select few with balls would buy a Challenger. The sports car 911 is more global and you have a following that is much different than the "Challenger type".
Why not Chrysler 'Cuda.....

I just don't think the new Chrysler Management team will put a high performance retro sports car into the Chrysler lineup. They have targeted Dodge as the sporty division and Chrysler as the higher end upscale division. The Prowler was a different animal as they folded Plymouth and instead of killing the car they simply rebadged it.

I just don't see a 'Cuda at all for more than a very short run if they do it. Kind of like they did the '10 Mopar Challenger and now they are going to do a Mopar Charger as well. Especially if gasoline stays at $4 a gallon plus for an extended period of time which it certainly look like it will.

Chrysler has stated time and time again the Challenger is good through 2014 baring any deep nosedive in sales. At that point they will have to do something with it as the current design will have pretty much run its course. If that happens and my finances are still in good shape I will buy a 2014 6 speed and baby it.
This should have been offered on day one.. It was already available on other models.

I have back up sensors in my truck and they are sooooo annoying. But if I turn them off, I get a big yellow light blasting in my eyes. IMHO they are only for people who don't know how to drive, just like most of the other crap manufactures are loading cars up with these days.
The Challenger is done after 2014. The only way to improve on its design is to make it lower like the original and slightly smaller. The Mustang will get a complete redesign for its 50th anniversary, and the Camaro will get its mid cycle refresh around the same time. The Challenger sort of had its mid cycle refresh this year and doesn't look to change much over the next three years. It will be phased out and hopefully be replaced by something as equally compelling such as a Cuda return. Although, I don't know why they'd bring the Cuda back since it would be essentially the same car.
I still don't see what the big deal would be of using the Plymouth name. Don't they still own the name? I mean, a DBA doesn't cost that much to use does it?

Not to mention that adding backup sensors to the Challenger will just uglify the rear bumper !

I say, learn to drive or get a rear backup camera if you need to know what's going on back there!

Unfortunately I suspect backup sensors will be forced on us as a mandatory requirement on all cars in the future anyway.

Agree 100%. they ruin the looks of cars.:(
quote: The ONLY "modification" to the Challenger I care about is when they will be dropping the 426 HEMI into it.

Yeah, let's go for a change that really does justice. This isn't a luxury cruiser,it's a retro muscle car with a heritage to live up to.If I was looking for luxury and softness I'd get a Buick.
As for backup cameras... I ONCE THOUGHT they were "gadgets" too... until my wife's Murano came with one. Tell you what, this is what all cars should have. Has nothing to do with driving skill... its about safety and peace of mind.

There's nothing more comforting when backing up a car than knowing whether or not my toddler son or some other little kid is behind the car. Couldn't see the little man back there without the camera... let alone animals (lazy pets that don't move), or even objects you missed that are lower than your trunk lid.

Backup cameras FTW. Best car "gadget" IMO.
I'd be happy with a cuda & I think it's a win/win for Dodge to keep expanding the retro-muscle line with minimal cost. The cuda allows Dodge to keep most of the Challenger lines/body, but still get a refreshing angle on the modern muscle car.

The cuda should be a lock.

BUT...

If they wanted to bring back something else... The late 60's Coronet re-do would be incredible. Have the same dudes that refreshed the Challenger work on the Coronet & I would buy one to sit side-by-side with my Chalenger. I totally don't need a 2nd car, but I would have no other choice but to buy one. I wouldn't be able to stop myself.

The implementation in the 300 isn't bad at all. The lights are above the rear window, so you only see them when using the rearview mirror. More lights activate as you get closer to an object. And the 2 little round sensors in the rear bumper are hardly noticeable.
That 426 Hemi version is available right now........Richard Petty is making them. Ain't cheap, that's for sure.

Personally......I think the Petty Blue car looks horrible. The others? They look nice.
Source?

I say: No 8-speed, no AWD for the 2012 300C SRT8.

That info was released at a regional sales meeting in the greater New York area. Thats all I know about it.

Does anyone have the stragit skinny if we can look at a potential 'Cuda in the future? If so, will it follow the evolution of a follow-on/refresh from the current Challenger? Love my Challenger, but have always loved the 'Cuda. I believe we can protect our sources.....=-)
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but... Now that it is nearly June, anything confirmed for 2012 yet? Colors? Special Editions? I know Dodge aways seems to be a few months behind in updating their websites and actually getting new models to their lots, but you'd think there would be something out there by now since there are not a ton 2011s even for sale.
Colors, yeah, I really want to know what colors will be available!

Dodge ought to know by now, surely?
....just waiting on a decent Orange to order a 392. If they brought Hemi Orange back, it would be a done deal!

I second that, but I don't Dodge will bring that color back for two sales when they already have Toxic Orange. :)
