Well truly this is something that we all ‘should’ follow, meaning the break in period, but since you did a little aggressive driving already as long as nothing is malfunctioning that you’re aware of, you should be okay but keep an eye on it is all. Don’t worry about something that hasn’t happened yet you know! I recently just went through the break in period with my car, it currently has 400 miles so I’m not quite out of it but I followed it to a tee so far and it’s been flawless.

Remember they test these engines before putting them into cars, so it’ll have run time by the time we get em’.

One last thing too is the fact that stretching its legs is a good thing in moderation. You simply did this too early and the chips will fall where they may, but like we’ve said you’re probably fine! Don’t sweat it!

hey guys i got me a new challenger with 10 miles on it and had a question or should i be concered.

Driving it home i tried sport mode and track mode, also aggressive driving here and there but not too bad.

I realized when i started reading the owner's manual that is has a 0-100miles, should be easy on gas pedal, don't go over 55mph, easy on breaking, and don't go over halfway on gas pedal.

Well i did not know this and for the first 100 miles i drove a bit aggressive .

Should i be concerned or check something just to be sure? No engine light and it sounds good but not sure if i should check and what to check for?
In 37 years of owning cars of all kinds I have never once followed any kind of break in regiment and never had a problem. The only thing that will screw these cars up is not changing the blinker fluid exactly when it's due. Worry about nothing else but that. Here is what I use for all my cars....best brand around.

Well damn. Guess I voided my warranty when I drove it off the lot, hopped on the highway and set cruise control at 75 for the next 140 miles home. Shame it spent its first night outside in the snow too. Poor car never had a chance.
Careful with an attempt at humor - this is clearly a no sarcasm zone.

Forget about what you did - don't worry. Some of the guys will joke around, but don't take it personally, it's just our way of initiating you into the brotherhood.

Moving forward, follow the break-in period of 500 miles, change the oil, then follow the 6m/6k rule for oil changes.

You’re a terrible owner. May as well adopt out that poor car out to me at this point. My adoption/re-home fee is only $100 😃

thanks guys. Dealership put in new oil when i bought it, when should i replace oil on new car? The first 500 miles or right away or wait until the norm like 3 to 4k miles?
I waited until 1500 miles

ya i have taken it easy after i read the manual. I guess my question is how do i know if there is an issue or underperforming? If the engine light doesn't come on, does it mean it passed the break in period?

What about if it doesn't come on but underperforming, is there a way to check? Or am i just over thinking about this?
You’re overthinking it plus you have warranty

Overthinking it. Drive it like you stole it.
Ya what he said

Do you think the 2 or 3 people that put those 10 miles on the car thought about babying the car per the owner's manual?

Is the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT on?

On second thought, yes, you completely ruined your engine and destroyed the fair market value of your Challenger. I will take it off your hands for $10k so you can go and buy a new one. But, this deal only holds true if the engine is running.
Those ten miles may have been (1) rev limiter bouncing burnout for all you know, take the 10K :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Just kidding your fine and there aint no way I could keep anything under 100 MPH or 3500 RPM for 10 miles, never mind 100. Drive it like you stole it and enjoy it, CONGRATS & WELCOME.

PS
Pic or it didn't happen...
