Good reading here for those that care about the octane of their car’s go-juice:

My limited experience with 91 octane gasoline is it went "stale" in 6 months.

While the engine started without any drama and the cold and warm and hot idle were ok, it turned out the engine was down on power. Not sure if this was due to timing being pulled or something else. I drove the car enough to get the gas level down quite a bit and I filled the tank up with fresh Shell V-Power 91 (which was the brand of gasoline the owner of the vehicle used). The engine perked up considerably with fresh gasoline.

According to this Ford engineer (Nukes favorite kind of homosapien) running higher octane than recommended is a waste of money.

Most octane recommendations are the minimum so I say BS...higher octane, especially in a high CR engine +10.5 to 1, is beneficial.

Steel drum for storage? Don't the fuels contain ethanol? I would like to get some stainless steel jerry cans though.
