Racing procedure: No stall, ESP Off, Trans in Manual mode (started in 1st gear and let trans shift itself through each gear), rear tire pressure at 31 psi.

A few things learned: I actually got better traction from not stalling the car vs. stalling the car at 1500-1800 rpm. The stalling at 1500-1800 rpm might be better for drag slicks but for stock tires, not so much.

Great times. SAR is always a tricky track and typically slower than the Borth Texas tracks. It is a fun place though. I am fifteen minutes from the track if you ever need anything or want to try my drag radials.

Take care,

Mike

I want to apologize to Evertone for this, as I have fallen way behind...between personal issues and sickness/deaths in the family, I have not been on here in a long time. I am in the process of updating the list, and will be using a new format....this should simplify things.

Very nice run! :) Stock axles still? What is your launch technique on the M&H's?

Me? No, I changed them out for Paramount axles long before I put drag radials on.

With the stock clutch it was 4500-5200 rpm give or take and letting the clutch out quickly, but not dumping it or slipping too much. Best launches came when the engine got dragged down to around 4K.

Spec clutch... still working on that, it is trickier to launch than the stock clutch especially on non-ideal track conditions.

Firday Night my first 1/4 mile run

OK so here it is last runs on top, just kept gettin better, as the whole drag race thing was pinging arround in my brain, (role up the windows... both of them... turn on lights...it was at night... after 5 runs I noticed the track had changed and I was getting way too much traction so I turned off the traction...and as I shut off the engine to keep it cool as I lined up to run... keep turning of the traction...helmet full face required here too tight...Damn let's race.... now with a 15 mph head wind best times were

13.6171 @ 102.71 mph
13.6499 @ 102.98 mph
13.7872 @ 101.36 mph
13.8642 @ 102.25 mph
13.8528 @ 96.16 mph
14.1641 @ 92.80 mph
14.2079 @ 100.43 mph
14.2319 @ 101.83 mph
14.3380 @ 101.36 mph
14.3469 @ 99.97 mph
At the start of the race the track was slippery about 500 feet. I needed the traction on. As the track got sticky I started getting wheelhop. I was even trying not to burn out too much traction wheel hop.
Finaly figured to burn out start in the wet... burn clean the tires... worked best I got good launch little spin and a little wheel hop once or twice more.
I had a great time. Used a set of stock tires Goodyears on the back I saved from the originals from factory. If you have not done this yet you need to! WHAT A BALL !

I am car 397. I ran a 12.65 at 110.44 mph
I put the info into the dragtimes site for DA and corrected time and got this
Correct your ET and MPH using the DA (Beta Testing)

Density Altitude: 1086

Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
12.509 @ 111.688 MPH

So I guess a corrected time would of been 12.5
