Fellows,

The change oil light came on yesterday, it is the second change, so my quetions to you are:

Can I change the oil and filter on my own without voiding the warranty?
Or It has to be done at the dealer?

How to reset the computer after the oil change so the light does not pop up again?

I have Mobil1 0W40 with the correct filter. As you know the price is way too high to do it at the dealer.

From what I understand as long as you keep receipts and a record you can change it yourself. I never trust that myself because to me that isn't proff of the milage when changed or that it even went into that car but alot of people on here do it that way and don't have a problem. I don't have a manual with me to tell you how to reset the light but it's easy and is in the owners manual. If you can't find out how I'll look it up when I get home about 5.

I found the reset proceedures without going home and looking it up. Here you go:
Unless reset, this message will continue to display each
time you turn the ignition switch to the ON position. To
turn off the message temporarily, press and release the
TRIP ODOMETER button on the instrument cluster. To
reset the oil change indicator system (after performing
the scheduled maintenance) perform the following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (do not
start the engine).
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times
within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the engine, the oil change indicator system did not
reset. If necessary, repeat these steps.
