Hello,

My wife has a 2019 Charger Scatpack it already has 7000k miles on it. I was driving on the freeway with it and the oil pressure started dropping all the way down to 0. I pulled over on the side of the freeway and the car wouldn’t crank up anymore the brakes were locked up and didn’t want to start. I got it towed to the dealership any ideas why this might of happened?

I recently changed the oil on it about 100 miles ago.

EDIT: This also is the second 2019 Charger Scatpack we got because the first one overheated some how and started throwing coolant everywhere and the dealership said it was a manufacture flaw and we got another Scatpack from the same dealer.

Sounds like the oil leaked out. Did you check it? Leave the drain plug loose maybe?

I took it to the dealer to get the oil change I suspect they have something to do with it. Maybe they didn’t close it right. You think if that is the case it has caused internal damage already?

Running without oil pressure? Yes that will cause damage, its probably junk now. You get an oil pressure warning, you gotta stop the engine immediately.

If you ran it without oil, and continued to crank it, then most likely. You should have checked the oil before towing it back to the dealer, but I guess it's too late now. Mistakes happen. If they made the mistake of leaving the drain plug or the filter loose, then that's still on them so hopefully they make it right.
