Hey,

I replaced my damaged factory 2-piece driveshaft (the bolts snapped) with a one-piece aluminium one from the driveshaft shop.
And now I have a random "clunk" when driving. It happens at all speeds (slow and fast) when cruising and under load.
It is not constant or repeating it is very random and loud. My mechanic is currently trying to chase it down.

Anybody else experience this?

I have a CONSISTENT clunk from gear changes and getting on or off the throttle. That’s the nature of a one piece with no cushion like the factory unit has. It will amplify the sounds in the driveline.
If it is truly at random times that is not typical. I would make sure bolts are good, driveline is properly aligned and make sure the shaft is not colliding with anything when you hit bumps etc.

If it was from shifts or throttle changes I could understand. But this clunk really does seem to be random.

Update. It was not the driveshaft at all.
It was the swaybar end links.
The one piece driveshaft was amplifying the sound. Go figure.
