That is nuts!!! And man...they see fire and they don't instantly react, just kinda sit there lol wow

And another thing...whats the deal with the guy sitting in the trunk during the dyno pull? A lot of things there could have equaled a very bad day instead of just a bad day......

Scatter shield also not a bad idea

Skip to the 1:00 mark to see how fast you go 0 - 150 mph with a car running "only" 11.63. And as they say, "Idiot escapes death; scatter shield a good idea". He is very lucky when the clutch lets go...

YouTube - Death of a Trans Am

Yes, he is very lucky... Mind you, there is a right way and a wrong way of doing a burnout. a) dumping the clutch at 7,000 rpm is a bad idea. b) you don't need mindless RPM to do a burnout on street tires c) not letting off the moment you realize engine is screaming but tires aren't spinning is a bad idea.

Granted, this can happen to all of us, so let's all remember:

a) if you do a burnout, no need to dump the clutch at a zillion RPM. Let the motor do the work.

b) point your side mirrors on your tires. Once out of the clutch, LOOK! If even one tire ain't spinning, ABORT.

c) get a scattershield if you put your car through this type of abuse on a regular basis.
