I was on my way home from a grocery store run in the 'burbs. I noticed a blue extended cab Chevy blasting off the line at a traffic light, I decided to punch it and initially had trouble keeping up, at least until I hit 4K rpm.

What kind of numbers do those trucks have? I did a little research, it had SS badges on it, so I assumed it was a Silverado, a dark blue one (maybe that color makes them faster). 4900 lbs. curb weight and 345 HP, that sound about right?:redcap:

If those numbers are correct, you should have killed him with the 800 lbs less weight and all the R/T low end torque. I couldn't imagine even wasting gas on that guy.
BTW, I got a 2011 Mustang Gt today from 65 mph up to , well, really fast. They can't hang with us :bigthumb:

Yeah, the light was just before a long stretch in the 'burbs and wanted to clear out the engine, you know for maintenance purposes.

I didn't give it 100%, but I saw him over 2 lanes giving it a go, and decided to make the Hemi do a little work out; he started out 2 car lengths ahead and kept up for 2-3 seconds, I was dawdling off the line and only put the hammer down after I saw him pulling ahead.

I drive pretty tamely 90% of the time anyway, so for 50 cents of gas, eh, might as well see what shes got. I wasn't worried, just surprised that thing had some cajones to it.

Love the power on this thing!

A little off topic

I can't tell the difference between a '10 and a '11 GT without being able to see the 5.0 emblem on the side. Are you sure you weren't up against a '10 because there's a big difference in HP between them?

Very true. It was definitely an '11. May have had me had I been willing to never quit but Interstate today is way to crowded for that....

the 11 GT is faster than an RT... my room mate has one and we giver when we're cruising. Hes faster but its nto nearly as much as everyone makes it out to be.

I think the noly way I know of to tell if its a 10 or 11 is the side mirrors on an 11 have a concave portion on them in the corner
