We love the Escort 9500ix here at Southern Car Parts. Since its release, the Passport 9500ix by Escort has been one of our personal favorite products, and has consistently been amongst our most well-reviewed.

Recently, we added a new product line to our catalog as well: the BlendMount line of radar detector mounts. We've been selling them for a little over a month now, and they're being as well received as the 9500ix. With that in mind, they seemed like a perfect match, so here it is, a BlendMount/Escort 9500ix package deal.

By ordering these items together in this bundle you're getting both of them at less than the MSRP cost of the Escort Passport 9500ix alone, and at $20 less than if you purchased them separately on our already discounted website! What you're getting, at those great prices, is one of the best radar and laser detectors on the market anywhere, and the perfect companion piece for it to give it a great, low-profile, easy installation.

Every single employee here at SouthernCarParts uses the 9500ix, and a lot of us have started moving towards using the BlendMount as well. If that's not a glowing recommendation for these products, I don't know what is!

So, we're happy to offer this new discounted bundle for the Escort 9500ix, BlendMount Dodge Challenger Rear View Mirror Radar Detector Mount, BlendMount Stealth Cord, and more!

For more information, and to order the bundle, just visit our website here: Escort 9500ix and BlendMount Radar Detector Complete Package

Thanks,
Matt

I HIGHLY RECOMMED THIS TO EVERYONE!!! I DON'T CARE IF YOU DON"T SPEED!!!

I have this exact setup, and I even paid 35 bucks for a 3 year subscription(spelling?).

It is easily the best radar I have ever used, and in the middle of the car it gets radar from behind also!!!

Think of it this way, at least in Jersey, if it saves you from ONE ticket it just paid for itself, yea just ONE!!!

Glad you guys like this set-up! This is the same one that all of us here at SCP use for our vehicles, and it's definitely saved us from a lot of speeding tickets. This thing is worth its weight in gold, when it comes to safety and protection, and the BlendMount and Mirror Tap power cords are perfect matches for it.

Thanks,
Matt

The BlendMount Escort Mount for the Challenger will also work with the 8500, if you're interested in that aspect of the combo package.

Mirror doesn't need to be autodimming, just have power! So, any rear view mirror with a light, or any other power aspect, will work just fine.

Thanks,

I have one installed with the blendmount as well. I have been considering getting the Invisible wire, but I still want to be able to mute it if I want, and I'm not sure that's possible with the Invisible wire. What do you do about muting?

I really like the Blendmount. It's very clean looking when you install it, but my radar detector has issues locking in on the gps signal. I think it's too far forward, but I'm not sure I can get it any further back. Anyone else have this issue?

Not clear why pulling the power from elsewhere would inhibit pushing the mute. If it's on a blendmount already & you're able to push the mute button now, the invisible wire shouldn't/won't change the position of the detector. (?)

Now that's odd. I have mine positioned where the front (display) of the unit is directly under & parallel to the front (reflective surface) of the mirror & never had any signal issues. Though in that position, I do have to tweak it just a hair to hit the mute button (could probably stand another 1/2 inch of clearance between the mirror & the unit), but it bounces right back into position. Since the GPS gets a clear signal though, I have used the mute button... maybe twice since I've owned it.

Yeah, the MirrorTap stealth connection power cord wont affect your mute functionality at all. In fact, the cord provides zero effects versus the basic lighter install, except for being much more low-profile and eliminating that unsightly dangling cord. So, you retain full functionality.

AV, you have yours installed properly. That's exactly where the front should come to, in reference to the mirror. You should be able to pull it down just a touch to get to the mute button, also, but that's not too extreme. As for signal issues, I can't figure out what might be causing them. You could turn that 9500ix sideways and still have full signal straight ahead, it seems at times.

Thanks,
Matt

I was referring to using the mute button attached to the plug, not the mute button on the top of the detector. It's just easier to use that mute button without having to reach up to the mirror.

OOohhhhhh! Right. I don't think I even knew (or forgot) there was a mute button on the standard power cord. 10-4.

The intermittent signal is still puzzling though. If you haven't already, maybe try it at the extreme front (windshield) for a while to rule out a defective unit.

I already have a 9500. Could you post a link for just the mount please? Thank you

The mount looks slick:thumbsup:

Can I still remove the unit for use in another car with the power option installed?

May need to be a bit more specific. When you say "unit", I'm assuming you mean the 9500. "For use in another car with the power option installed..." I'm assuming you mean your Challenger will have the Blendmount & stealth cord, & the other car has nothing (or stock detector suction cups & power cord).

But yep, the "stealth cord" comes out of the mirror into the RJ-11 phone jack type power connector - easily dis-connectable from the detector, with the detector itself being almost equally easy to dismount from the Blendmount. Understanding though, I wouldn't count on moving (uninstalling/reinstalling) the "stealth cord" from car to car too often - same with the Blendmount.

The ideal situation being two setups for the separate cars - or alternatively, the fancy setup (Blendmount/stealth cord) for the Challenger & detector included suction cup mount with curly stock cigarette outlet power cord for the other car. With either of these though, the 9500 can be easily swapped between the two in seconds.

There's the link for just the mount. As for the rest of your questions, AVConsumer2 got to them before me and answered them expertly! Not much more for me to add there.

Thanks,
Matt
