Did you set up the Uconnect before you started on the phone?
I set mine up the other day.
You have to say pairing when you go to the phone menu, then give the phone a name, as well as give a pin number (which is a four digit number of your choice), then you go to the phone and type in the pin number on your phone and you should be good to go.
How old is the phone?

I don't think I set up u connect , I just hit the phone button & got to the prompts for the pin & all but nothing happens
The phone is 2010
I'm kinda A.D.D. when it comes to reading through a manual
Is there an actual set up for U connect other than turning it on ???
Make sure your phones Bluetooth is on! (something I'd be prone to overlook) ;)
I think the phone should work, my iPhone 4 does.
There really isn't anything to do after turning on Uconnect, maybe you should pop the CD that the car came with in, it might have troubleshooting steps on it.

Exactly!! I called them on Monday about the iPod problem and the MyGig support people had me on the phone for the least amount of time. I really have better things to do than drive down to the dealer for them to tell me that they can't do anything about it. They had better come out with an update for the 430N units, they're hanging us out to dry with the old unit firmware.

Yeah man it's frustrating !
My phone sees everyother device on the planet
even the PS3 but the U Connect is like NO CONNECT !!
You need to do the pairing on the U-Connect menu. Just hit that button and follow the prompts, she even talks to you . Once you go through the U-Connect preliminaries you get to the phone and like above, make sure your BTooth option is turned on. Once the link is established, it will download your stored address book. You will then be able to speak the name of person you're trying call and if you have multiple numbers for that entry, it will ask you which one. Pretty slick.. :bigthumb:

Did mine exactly as Juve996 explains. You have to have your Blue Tooth on to pair your phone as well as use your phone with U-Connect. Your phone may have the Blue Tooth turned off to save the battery. The U-Connect is one of the nicest features. I use it all of the time.

I'm get through the setup all the way until I add the Pin # &
then it fails , my phone does not see anything & apparently
U Connect does not see my phone, I have a search feature on the phone
& it does not see anything coming from the car
Is there something that turns on the bluetooth signal from the car :scratchhead:
Well I actually got a knowledgeable person on the U Connect
Cust Svc # & got the phone paired.
The pin had to be 0000
The address book didn't upload &
when I tried to make a call
I spoke a # confirmed the # was correct but it just sort of disconnected

At least it's progress . According the the rep I have to call my carrier for uploading the phonebook
I don't think it's enough to just store numbers in the phone. In order for the U-Connect to see the phone book it should have a name associated to each number. This is how U-Connect speaks to you, it asks you for the name of the person you're dialing and then tells what number(s) are associated with that person such as work, home or cell. Typically this is done by storing this type of info within a contact list of some sort on the phone and then the U-Connect will sync that list. In any event, it sounds like you're making some headway. Now it's a matter of figuring out your phone.

BTW, it wouldn't be a bad idea to do some voice recognition training on your U-Connect system. If it's the same as the 2010 system it should take about 15 minutes or so. This will train the system to recognize your voice patterns so it won't error out as much. You can find this in the U-Connect menu as well.

Thx for the tips !!
I was able to add a 1/2 dozen names
the manual says phones have to be u connect compatible
to synch phonebook etc...
I was hoping to have the phone book stored as text also where
I could just use the touch screen to select but don't know if u connect even works that way. For now at least everything is progressing
I should train it for my NY slang LOL
