Strange question I know :) And obviously I mean a talented worker and not me.

Getting a Challenger here in the UK and would LOVE to get a shaker. Buying the Shaker kit is no problem, but buying the shaker hood will be a big issue:

- No market for reselling my non shaker hood
- Expensive/difficult to ship a shaker hood over here!

Which brings me to my question - theoretically could a talented metal worker cut the shaker hole out on the hood well? And has anyone tried this before? Any risk to safety?

A flat hood is what you need for a Shaker - it doesn't have the raised dome section that's nearly 1.5" tall.

Here's shots of my SP Shaker - you can see the stepped area is very slight, compared to the regular hood. This is the same difference that was utilized with the original '70 / '71 Shakers as well.

I've seen some aftermarket conversions that have a shaker with the standard hood - it looks odd. You have the shaker plus the scoops on the sides...
