Thanks Speedy for posting this up for me. I have been very busy & have not had time to post. The tune & setup on my SC was suppose to be very conservative because of the stock motor. I have seen guys on here running 8 plus psi of boost on stock motor with no problem so I figured I was ok at 6psi. The Vortech was installed & tuned by a vendor on the forum. I called them Tuesday & told them what had happened & to see if they could help me figure out what went wrong. They took some notes & was going to call me back that same day. As of today I have not had a return phone call. I spent a good bit of money with them for the SC install & tune. I will be taking my car somewhere else for the rebuild.

That's the second vortech custom tuned motor that had issues with a vendor on this forum. I'm yet to hear a problem with one with the kit tune. Was the kit tune to rich or not enough hp.

Sorry for engine problems. Isn't it funny how helpful they are before they have your money.

Why would you use a custom tune on a stock setup when the kit tune is tested tried and true? Are shops looking to get more money out of the install?

I get it if you have other mods , but if the only mod is the SC, Use the kit tune.

I didn't use the KB kit tune, my tuner said that he could make it safer. Don't know if that's true , I hope so. So far so good,

I'm going to check my bap and see what size wire they ran. If the wire was to small and would get hot wouldn't the voltage drop and the fuel pump not speed up or Bap not put out 17.5v and cause the car to go lean?

Kind of scary for a 5 dollar up sized wire.

Did your kenne Bell bap have a boost switch wired in?I have the kenne bell bap and it's wired through a relay and have a 3psi boost switch to activate.

Mines the same, BAP is only activated when in boost. I would think runnng 17v full time would be hard on the pump not to mention heated fuel.
