That's disappointing that you had an issue with your engine at that level of boost, Greg. I'd be surprised if it wasn't tune related. Hopefully your vendor steps up on this one.

This wouldn't be the first Vortech blown HEMI at relatively low boost to go due to a tune.

When my bud (Bearair) purchased the Vortech back in late '09 the canned tune supplied wouldn't start his R/T so he had to flatbed it to a local speedshop for a custom tune to get it going. Now I realize they've come a ways since then, but a proper custom CMR tune is the way to go if the tuner truly knows what they're doing.

The rub is I don't think they're all that many good hemi tuners out there, especially with it comes to the 2009+ 5.7 based motors. That doesn't keep them from selling and tuning, though. A good vendor will back-up their sale with the appropriate level of support and I'm hoping LUV sees that kind of commitment.

Fair enough, Tim. But allow me this. How many of those thousands were tuning a hemi with a blower you installed? And of those with stock bottoms, how many of those have failed? I've seen failures on this site and others. Certainly not all yours. But the question stands and more importantly given you're one of our vendors and one I've done business with, what are you prepared to do for LUV?

You may not want to address these questions to myself, but I would think LUV would be due the responses.

As for the BAP he wired, I thought that happened because he was having trouble after the install??? I could certainly be mistaken. I am about half the time ;-)

Seems pretty straight forward to me. If DCX don't feel responsible, well that's their choice I guess.

Suggest you then go to Arrington and have the drop a forged short block in for your and you'll have a 3-year warranty and a proper tune by A.J. "hemituner". Happy happy :)

Again, sorry for your troubles and I hope to see you at CF2.

I think it's Walbro business more than anything. They like selling a second pump that's already built and paid for. How many would they sell if they did make one of the same size but higher capacity? Enough to justify the outlay??? Call me a cynic ;-)

I can tell you the bottoms on the pumps vary based on the ones I've seen. I've seen different filters with different size openings for Walbros as well based on the ones I had mailed to me or I bought. Also the heights vary so the cases come in different sizes.

X2, Speedy. I think the stocker is a Walbro but I'm not 100%.

The LX guys did a bunch of work on this a year or two before we did any and there's some great threads over there. They use the stocker pump and an add'l Walbro if memory serves me. They've been running a long time with those setups on some serious builds.

I like getting the lines to the pumps out of the tanks. I've put just short of 10K miles with the FORE dual pump setup, and many of them hard, with no pump problems.
