The Options

Touring Edition Exhaust

The Touring Edition is a full 3” straight-through stainless steel catback configuration capable of delivering optimal power while remaining drone-free throughout the entire rev range. Featuring a precision-engineered H-pipe and AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®, the Touring Edition delivers deep, rich exhaust notes that coax you to redline.

Catering to the feigns of big power, the Touring Edition features engineered provisions to accommodate larger, high performance driveshafts and differentials.

Perfect tone, compliments of AWE 180 Technology®.

As exhaust gases exit the 6.2L and 6.4L engines and flow into an AWE 180 Technology® equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. More on AWE 180 Technology® in the tab above.

Important fitment notes:

The Touring Edition Exhaust is available as non-resonated or resonated. We recommend the non-resonated variant for vehicles equipped with the factory headers. If your Challenger is equipped with aftermarket headers, we recommend going resonated. Have stock headers but planning to go aftermarket later? No worries, you can swap in the resonated mid sections with ease via an AWE Resonator Conversion Kit. Hit us here if you’re in need of this conversion kit.

Track Edition Exhaust

For those who like it raw and rowdy, the Track Edition is for you. The Track Edition shares the same integrated H-pipe and precision engineering as its Touring Edition counterpart, minus AWE’s patented drone-canceling solution, 180 Technology®.

In place of the 180 Technology® resonator in the rear lies a Track Edition straight section. As a result, this version is known to get (really) rowdy in mid range acceleration and deceleration, and may be too much for many. Due to this reason, AWE Track Edition Exhausts cannot be returned based on sound preference. You’ve been warned.

Conversion kits:

We made it easy to convert between Track and Touring Editions if you decide at a later date to change your volume.

Tip Options:

The Touring and Track Edition Exhausts are available with quad 4” double-walled slash-cut tips in either diamond black or chrome silver, as well as fitments to retain the OEM tips.

What’s in the box?

Complete Touring or Track Edition Exhaust, four 4” slash-cut tips in desired finish (if applicable), and all necessary hardware for installation (including valve simulators)

Well guys, I pulled the trigger. Ordered a set of AWE exhaust through Josh. Only catch is I went with a +2015 6.2/6.4 system for my 2015 RT (SKU 3020-11028 - touring without mid-mufflers "resos as AWE calls them" and stock tips). Why?

Because I am running long tube headers and the mid pipes are 3" and I have adapters that will work for a 6.2/6.4 set-up. Also, I don't want the mid-mufflers "resos" because that is how I run my current set-up. I wanted stock tips as it makes aligning the tip waaay easier. Would rather have ease of adjustment over round tips (although I could always slap on a set from a trackhawk).

Well there is another catch and that is I will need to use exhaust hangers from a +2017 RT or +2015 SP/HC (which I believe the P/N is 68239472AA). Why?

Because on pre-2017 RTs the rear exhaust hangers are clocked 90 degrees to the +2017 RTs and +2015 6.2/6.4.

This is what my rear hanger looks like on my stock resos (left image) 2015 RT along with the corsa extreme I am currently running (right image).

This is the AWE kit I am getting, +2015 6.2/6.4 SKU 3020-11028.

And this is the AWE set-up looks like this for +2015 RT. Note the hangers as it is different from pre-2017 RTs and match that of the +2017 RTs.

Some may call this insanity but I think I will finally get the sound I am looking for. With the corsa and mid-muffler delete I was 80% there, I am hoping with AWE it will be out 100%. If that is the case then my corsa extreme set-up will soon be up forsale including the mid-muffler delete set-up I made for it.

I plan to take vids of my current set-up, corsa extreme with mid muffler delete and then compare to the AWE system. I will include cold starts (outside of the garage), drive-by passes and vids in the car during accel and cruising.

Oh snap, the AWE exhaust is on its way. Need to start taking some vids/sound samples of my current set-up so I can compare and post up the results.

Oh my can’t wait!
I was going to pull the trigger but I hesitated and now I’m stuck waiting till I can make the move
Gotta wait till I get short headers and the exhaust purchased together to make it a one time install
Can’t wait to hear how it’ll sound!

FAQ Friday - Anti-Seize
I know this owners group is very likely familiar with this copper or nickel based wonder compound, but for those that are getting ready to install their systems, grab that anti-seize because you'll need it for the threads on the tip clamps! Just a little dab or brush. My Pro Tip: Loosen the clamp and put a dab just below the upper barrel nut, and then work the Anti-seize through to make sure everything is good and ready for install.

Unlike the clamps on the pipes (60lb ft of torque), the tips clamps are going to be 18-20lb ft. We generally go by feel.
