I have never seen a post about this but I can't figure a way around this and I need someone smarter than me, doesn't take much!
I would like to listen to the stereo when I am cleaning the inside of the Challenger with the key in accessory mode. When the doors are open, the stupid chime goes off forever and I end up singing to myself with no radio-not good if you are within 1/2 mile of me. If you leave the ignition in run position, I think the chime will stop. I am concerned about doing damage in the long run in the run mode. I thought of pulling the chime fuse but have never followed through. Does anyone know how to disarm the chime when the door is open, maybe through the computer?
Thanks guys and gals

The ignition "ON" mode w/o the engine running will drain the battery a lot faster:

*HVAC blower on (if fan setting beyond "0")
*power to ignition module
*power to engine PCM
*wipers, accessories powered up
*IP cluster powered up
*fuel pump circuit energized
*oxygen sensor heaters powered up

This will generally pull the voltage down to 12.8V when the engine isn't running. It wouldn't take long to drain the battery.

Better to run in Accessory mode, where you have minimal power drain compared to the "ON" position.

Take a small screwdriver/stick/key and close the door latches. Don't forget to open them with the handles before you close the doors.

I have never seen anything in the evic that would allow me to change that. It you know how to get to that area, please post on how to do it.

I can't believe that I didn't think of that! I've been doing that for years on the trunk to turn out the light. Sometimes the simplest answers just zoom past me. I will usually lay a towel in the opening to remind me to release the lock. Thank you so much for the reply.
If anyone else has any other ideas, I am open to them.
I am so glad that there are people with more brain cells than me.

I don't have EVIC on my 09 RT but I did turn the chime off. I am not sure if I remember but try this. Turn key to on position, buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt three times within 10 seconds and then turn key to off. My chime is off when I drive without the belt on but I don't know if this works when it's in acessorie position. There was a post about this somewhere in here. Hope this helps and works.

I kind of remember reading that somewhere and will check it out tomorrow.

I was wondering if the scanner would do that. I'll have the dealer check it out in a few weeks when the Challenger comes out for the spring.
Thanks again everyone.
Any other ideas, this is giving me some choices.

I am talking about the interior: vacuuming, cleaning the dash, etc. I only use the hose for cleaning the interior of my shop trucks and my best friend's new Mustang GT. Well!!! He used to be my best friend.
Have a great evening.
