So almost a year after replacing several pulleys the idle arm pulley and sounds like the water pump pulley is making some serious noise. I have an appointment tomorrow but I really can't understand how they can go bad after only a year and the water pump after two years (30k miles) SMDH... I honestly think the Shaker drain directly over the belt is contributing to the pulley failure... I'm going to play around and try to redirect the water to another location...

Alignment is good? They can take a laser tool and make sure everything lines up. if there is side load, that could explain it. Possible too tight a belt could also

I think if this were the case, we'd see a ton more of these posts. I'm betting on tensioning issues.
Would be my first guess.

It's aligned correctly and a new belt right after the tension arm pulley replaced. Actually after they replaced the tension arm pulley it was still making a squeaking noise so they replaced another pulley and then the belt. So all was fine for about 8 months. Also, this is the second time. The first was from factory. As you can see in the pic, it looks like rust splatter from the water pump pulley. Anyway I just dropped it off at another dealer to see what they come up with...

Hi JavierA,

Please keep us updated on your dealer’s findings. If we can be of any assistance, please feel free to send us a PM. We’d be happy to help.

Dealer called this evening and sure enough the water pump will have to be replaced. And he said the pumps are on backorder and it will be 2 weeks before he can get one. He said he wouldn't suggest driving it, I told him well at least it's not my primary car and I don't need it to drive, and he asked if I just wanted to leave it with them until he got the pump! I said no, Ill come and get it and bring it back when you get the pump. Like I'm going to leave it sitting out at the dealer for two weeks, not that I don't trust the dealer, but that just ain't gonna happen. I should have said yeah, but ill need the hellcat redeye widebody you got sitting out front as a loaner.
