I posted a while back about my brand bew FF R/T getting door dinged at work. She will have to be painted and blended to repair...now does anyone know if this will effect the car's resale value? I was told by the dealer and two body shops were I got the estimates that I should take care of it before and rust or oxidation. Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Before you go the route of bodywork and a respray, have you tried to look up a local paintless dent removal tech/service? They can work miracles with small dents like door dings in a lot of cases, and a lot cheaper than having bodywork done. The results are usually very good........

I hit a raccoon in our Altima; split the front bumper. I had the best shop in our area replace the bumper with new, and paint to match. I thought it was a perfect job, and I'm pretty particular.

Take it from me, someone that knows what to look for can pick out a repaint, no matter how good it is. Took the car to CarMax, and the guy found it right off. He used a piece of white paper to reflect in the paint. It was obvious the bumper did not have the same gloss as the fender next to it. I was shocked, but it was a good learning experience.

Paintless ding removal is absolutely the BEST way to go, look into it befoe you paint!

The only problem is the dent is right on the body line and took some paint off exposing the bare metal.

It'd be cheaper to get the dent removed by PDR and then getting the paint fixed at a shop.

Ask around at some of your local car clubs. I also belong to a Jaguar Owner's group and we have a list of specialist that keep our cars in Concours shape. I have been amazed at what they can do!
