No dipstick.
'Closed system'.
How do you know if / when transmission fluid might need topping off / changing ?

Thanks in advance. :scratchhead:

With the 5 speed automatic, there's specific temperatures to determine the proper fluid level.

Overfilling these units is bad...so its different from the "old days" of the Torqueflite / C4/C6 / THM 350/400 era of automatics.

Its along the line of "if it isn't broke, don't fix it..."

What I did was buy the dipstick (which works on both our Challenger and Jeep) and the using the charts of level vs temp, check the vehicles with the factory fill to make sure I understood how to check and read the level BEFORE the time comes to change or refill the trans fluid. The factory fill level on both vehicles matched up very close to the published charts.

lifetime powertrain warranty

So I figure that at 25 months, and an 84.95 coupon, it was time. So mine was changed aty my dealership. Made sure that they signed it off in my owners manual. Just cuz I am a bit anal about those things.
