This is a warning as well as a vent.
So I decided to take a cheap way out and buy a cord of eaby for my 9500ix. Didn't want to spend over 20 bucks nor research it myself.
As most people here I come from a technical background with a engineering degree. - reason for this comes later.
The cord was "ESCORT Radar 9500ix STEALTH cord" from the company safe-N-sound1. They also have a website they sell the same things. I would warn all challenger owners to stay away from. In fact after this all happen I found out a vendor on here sells a cord!

So normally I'm real mellow about eaby and all problems and normally come to a agreement with the seller if something happens, such is life.:hippy:

Well I tried to install the cord to my mirror, and we all know the back of our mirrors have a cover that snaps. I bend the leads of the wire so it can follow the factory wires out of the back of the mirror. Well I realize that the fuse was shipped detached. and was held together buy some tight heat shrink. Thus my 9500ix kept flashing on/off. I tried contacting the seller, and it was all my fault since I bent the wires in any way. They have a warranty, but refuse it since its not in the same perfect shape that it sent out. I mean really, a 20 gauge wire ....how do you not bend it ?:dunno:

After a few emails of them not doing anything about it, I told them I was going to file with eaby.
the last thing I said prior to this email, was "just stand behind your product and admit that the solder could not have been done right and I wont worry about filing with eaby"
But here is the email they sent to me---real professional!
"You are being silly.
The instructions do not tell you to bend the leads. Why didn't you ask first???

I would hope you understand that this is somewhat common sense that it would somewhat break or disconnect from the power cord, IF you bent it like so...

You can send the other one back in with $2 for us to fix it or reconnect the leads at a 90 degree angle for you to install..."

So they 2 dollars was to fix the cord. I had to mail it back ($2.50), and then pay return shipping ($2.50) for a $9.50 cord? and thats to make a solder joint. - this email did it for me...filed with eaby.

Heres other feedback they gave their customers:
"WHAT A LIAR! the item shows delivered already. we helped you contact the USPS."
"WTF??? Not every car is exactly the same, but it should work the same idiot"
"Yeah right. You don't contact us and just leave a negative feeback? LIAR! BEWARE"

Is this how you would treat a fellow customer?
So eaby read everything and ruled in my favor and gave a refund. - but since it wasnt about the money, just wanted them to stand behind their product I'm thinking about mailing the cable back to them.

For the DIYers, its just a rj-12 phone cord with the green wire to ground and the red to 12v. IF you want a mute button, put a push button with the pos to the yellow wire and the other to ground.

I guess I forgot what the real world is like off of challengertalk....when you don't have sellers back their product! Or the amazing customer support the vendors have here!:rocker:

*mods please move this where you see fit. It deals with a challenger product. With a DIY tip, and buyer experience. Dont care if it gets deleted, feel better now*

its always nice when people stand behind their product. but this only happens when they know their product is good. these idiots know their shit is junk and try to play it off. glad ebay stood up for you

You're gonna love it. Bought mine from Southern Car parts and just got all at once from them: detector + blendmount + invisicord. I had some trouble installing the cord, but I'm not that handy. Now that it's done I love this thing!

I must say that if I had any issue with a $20 product, I'd just chalk it up to experience and spare myself the aggravation. I know that crooks count on just that, but fighting every little vendor isn't worth the time on the phone and trips to the post office to me. Posting about it to warn others is a good deed, though.

Definitely like the Valentine 1, blendmount, and remote gauge pod setup.

It took a little custom work, if any, to do but it's nice not having lights blinking at the mirror especially at night.

I had a great experience with a seller on EBay over christmas (not this one). I bought a logitech speaker bar for a laptop for my kid. I had one that bought a few years ago and it was awesome but they stopped seller them for some reason.

so i found one on ebay. but the seller was from Korea. Has awesome feedback though so I bought it. W free shipping too.

Well get this, I bought it on a sunday. he shipped it fed ex on monday. I received that sucker on TUESDAY! WTF!!! thats was incredible.

so i give it to my son for christams. CRAP! it doesnt work. its all staticy. So i email the seller. He apologizes a million times and sends me another on that day and I receive that two days later. Doesnt want the broken one. and apologizes again!!

come on man, youre making all the other guys look bad! lmao! but ya, I recognize the importance of customer relations and this seller was THE BEST!

My intentions were not to make everyone look bad, but just to spread the work on THIS seller. How he treats his customers.

As far as ebay, I'm on it ...well a lot more than I should be. And this was the worst seller I ever dealt with. In fact I just order a borla ATAK for 475 off ebay, and fedex messed up the shipping and the seller included a free thandle for the challenger.....This was awesome!
BTW if anyone needs a soft top for a jeep unlimited....well hes got one!

So by all means this was not a hit on ebay....just safensound1.com -- In my experience most people are honest and willing to help. This seller was offering something, and would not stand behind his own warranty!
