you park your brand new car really far away from every other car in a parking lot with tons of available spaces and then you later find that someone has chosen to park smack dab right next to you instead of in any of the dozens of other open spaces. It's a BMW, but still... get away from me! ?

Meh, sure its a BMW but its a last generation 5 series with some scuffs on the back. If it had been an "M" I might have been ok with him/her parking so close.

Feel honored that that Bimmer owner:

A) Could only feel cool by parking next to your segregated Challenger,
B) Thought your Challenger was so cool they had to admire it up close.

The power of the Challenger - they cannot resist it.

i cannot stand this! My ultimate pet peeve. i parked out in the goonies for a reason. i don't want some rust bucket P.O.S parking next to me and dining my challenger. Also to many people out there just don't care about their car or anyone else's car.

Boring BMW parks next to SXT. BMW drivers have no shame.

I bet it was some young jerk who thought his entry level used BMW was comparable to a Challenger.

Why? Because I use to think like that when I was a young jerk.

Yep. Happens to me all the time. I always park as far out as I can and most of the time some jerk wad is right next to me when I come out.

Almost once a week!

More dings and scrapes than I had ever seen!

This really pisses me off too!

I've had the same thing happen a few times at work though a couple of times its been with a really nice 2013ish metallic grey corvette on one side and a new Blue 2014 Mustang GT on the other side. Walking on my 2 min parking lot stroll to the car at the end of the column I was thinking WTF why park on either side when there were open spots. Then I was thinking they probably don't want any door dings either so they've managed to protect both sides for me.

In OP case though I've got to think yeah that's an A$$hat.

Take it easy

Happens to me all the time too. Pisses me off and I know they do it on purpose just to be jerks. Best parking space I have found is the one next to the handicap space. I will park right on that outside blue line (they have plenty of room to spare) and nobody can park close enough to ding my car on the other side.

That's a fail no matter how you look at it. I don't want anyone parking in the spot next to me no matter what kind of car they have. Even if it's Mario A. with his Lamborghini (who I was behind in traffic yesterday by the way).

What I started doing is parking on the white line (taking two spots) when the outskirts of the lot are empty unless I can find an end spot where I can leave myself more room.

Double parking will likely get your car physically messed with... ppl can be jealous a-holes sometimes. I never heard of getting keyed simply for parking way out... but i've heard lots of horror stories of physical damage when double parking. I still will never understand it..

Lay a shopping cart on it's side on both sides of your car. People are too lazy to move the cart and won't park next to you. Went to the DMV two days after I got my 2014 Shaker, found a spot way in the back, worried the whole time, but still alone when I got back.

It is somewhat sad that WE have this "parking lot anxiety" ... But I do Love driving my Challenger! Other than leaving her in the garage I will just have to walk from WAYYYYY out at the end of the parking lots!!! :D
