I have the Alpine speaker option in my 2016 Scat Pack.

I have the bass set to +5, Treb an Mid at +3.

Whenever a song comes on that carries some decent bass, I get all kinds of rattle on that tray behind the back seats.

There has to be something to eliminate that rattle, anyone else have this issue?

I'm not cranking the volume either, I'm talking like 15 or so.

EDIT (I think it's sound group 2, with the Subs in the deck)

Thanks
Ryan

For me it was the 3rd brake light -- I took it into the dealer and had them fix it. I still have some rattles from the door panels and rear trunk, but much better than it was. I didn't want the entire interior taken apart, in my experience it never goes back together the same. I've got the HK system.

I have the same system. The dealer thought the noise in the back was from the sunroof track. They tore it all out and put a new track in. Drove from the dealer just to hear it again. Keep in mind this was just from normal driving, not the base. I'll check the 3rd brake light, but it sounds like it's coming from the trunk to me.

Now From the base, I get rattles from the overhead area that holds sunglasses. It irritates the heck out of me. Any suggestions there?

Thanks for the input. Yes, I do agree.....trim never seems to go back to the way it was from the start. I just read a thread on how to get that decklid to slide down a little to check for loose objects. Maybe I'll give that a try before going to the dealership.

I have stock sound group and I get a rattle on the back pillar when either bass heavy music comes on or MDS kicks in. Usually lightly smacking the head liner will make it go away for a minute.

Thinking of stuffing a small rag or something into it and seeing if the sound goes away.

parcel shelf is the name for that.

Check to make sure the c-pillar trims and CHMSL (center brakelight) aren't loose or isn't clipped in fully. Also, unlatch seatbacks to make sure there isn't anything loose with the trim or that seat wasn't fully latched back up.

+5 is a lot of boost on bass...whee. I have SGII as well - the 8" sub is in the rear shelf. I use .wav format files, so its the native file as they came off the CDs (no emphasis, boost / cuts to the EQ).

Last night, put the music on and jumped in the back seat. Made sure both seats are latched properly and the rattle isn't coming from there. Also, held the Third brake light, and it's not from that.

I then pushed down on the "Parcel Shelf" and the rattle stopped. So, I am not sure if it is not set right, but as soon as I lift my hand from it, it starts rattling again. So, pretty sure the rattle is the Parcel Shelf itself vibrating with the window or the tray below it.

probably a thin sheet of foam would do the trick - there may be a slight "warp" to that panel and it just touches the metal beneath it and rattles with the louder bass passages

Yup, kind of what I was leaning towards, or maybe some sound deadening material.

not sure if you ever had anything done about this, but there is TSB dodge has to install a rubber seal on the back edge of the hatshelf to eliminate this problem.

I told the dealership there was a TSB and they looked it up and then installed some foam waetherstripping.

They did that for me too.

Rattle was back after a few months.

I had a passenger back there when it was rattling around and they said it sounded like it was coming from the C pillar, so I might get back there myself and see if I can find what exactly is causing that infernal cacophony.
