I feel stupid asking this, as it probably has a good simple explanation...

On my 2015, the rear glass has this Polk a dot pattern of haze. Almost looks like if you took a cotton ball dipped in whatever auhnd just dabbed it all over the glass. Thought my rear glass was just dirty, but its definitely clean. It's weird - looks like a laminated layer that has air trapped or something. Is this just a reflection and I'm nuts? Here's a picture. Kind of hard to photograph. Btw - the glass is perfectly clear when I look in the rear view mirror. Just from the outside looking in, I see these hazy faint Polk dots.

Anyone see this same thing on their rear glass? What is it?

Almost a milky white blob all over. I tend to see them more often when wearing sunglasses than without but it's usually on older cars. Go to an auto glass shop and ask what is causing it or what is called in their trade, if it is a defective window maybe a written letter from a shop can get your dealer to replace the window.

Yep. That's the perfect way to put it. It's like a cotton ball dipped in milk got dabbed all over the glass. It almost is a pattern, so I thought it was maybe intentional for glare or something. I fixed the picture in my original post. So, hopefully you all can see the patten and I don't sound nuts. :nerd:

Hey there
When I worked at a Dealer there was a memo about this. When the rear glasses are shipped to the factory they have a layer of bubble wrap between them, there is a chemical reaction between the coating on the glass and the wrap, this is what you see and it's very common across all cars

Whoa! Crazy. Bubble wrap - That explains the pattern. Does it work itself out over time? Or is there a solution to clearing up the glass? My front and side glass don't have this pattern (thank goodness)

Funny thing is I've only seen it on rear glass and across brands. As I said earlier if you're wearing sunglasses it seems to show more easily than with the naked eye. Since not all windows show it I'd think it's a warranty issue.

What you're seeing is:

http://www.glassonweb.com/articles/article/742/

its the polarization within the glass, not a manufacturing defect. Its more noticeable when you wear polarized sunglasses.

Some cars have a diamond matrix pattern or a vertical (or sometimes horizontal) bar pattern or the dotted one as the OP noticed..

If you can see it without sunglasses on...
spray Invisible Glass, then scrub/polish with 0000 steel wool.
keep the glass lubed with Invisible Glass, don't let it dry.
Try a small area first, but this worked for me when my car was new.
