I haven’t been on in a while - been getting settled in our new house & working a couple of other projects. I bought a set of rear window louvers from Dale’s Cuda Shop because I like being able to lift them to clean the back window but didn’t want to drill the roof. Building on the idea of a Hellcat owner who mounted his louvers on the rear window, I worked with a local machine shop & later with a local restoration & mod shop to build a new set of hinges. I still had to drill 4 holes inside the trunk below the rear window but I’m ok with that. There is also a gap between the top of the louvers & the roof but we think we can bring that down even more. I’m very happy with the results and the louvers look great. And best of all I can lift the louvers to get to the rear window and the roof is intact.

Really looks great. Awesome job. (y) :) I always cringe when I hear about drilling into the outside of a vehicle but you came up with a really good way around that. The holes inside the trunk is a good idea and doesn't really mess with anything visible outside.

Very nice, can you provide both closer pictures of the top hinge on the window, and of the whole car from the rear corner. I love rear louvers, ever since my first Shelby Charger Turbo had them.

Thank you for the feedback & kind words! Here’s a couple of more pix. The hinge is mounted to the window using a metal plate with heavy duty tape on the back side & 2 screws already mounted on the plate. The plate was sold to mount a set of stick on louvers to the window. Anyone interested in buying a set of hinges can call Fantom Works in Norfolk, VA.

Did some more tweaks on the mounting hinges & eliminated almost all the gap between the louvers & roof. The only remaining gap is 1/4” between the hinges - the louvers sit flush everywhere else. I’m pretty stoked with the results. For anyone who wants a set of Dale’s Cuda Shop louvers but doesn’t want to drill the roof you now have the solution. And Fantom Works will make the bracket for anyone - the hard part (initial design) is done!

Looks great. My 1971 'Cuda had 8 holes ( 3 for each roof hinge and one for each trunk-mounted hood pin) drilled into the exterior!
