Since I've been there and done that at this point with modding my R/T here's some solid advice. If you want to be a little faster go straight for long tubes and a tune. After that? Go for a cam. I went with the stock 392 cam and am very happy with it. At this point I'm about 400whp(+/-10), plenty fast even in today's world. Wanna be even faster? Nitrous. That's my next move, gonna get a nitrous express kit and spray 100 shot which will put me ahead of just about any N/A car on the street. Ignore people who tell you things like throttle body, CAI, Catback, etc. The only time you'll be upgrading the throttle body is if you're boosted or the OEM one fails. I got tunes done from diablotoona(Johan) on my Diablo i3. Oh and for the record it's a driver's race with FBO cam R/T with way less money into my car.
With spring right around the corner part one of my build will be completed in the next couple of days. This will finish what I wasn’t able to get done last fall when the car arrived. Chassis, suspension, drivetrain, brakes and tires have been update. Hoping for a nice ride when it’s done :-)
havent put it on the dyno or full boost tuned it yet as I break it in so I won’t be sure on numbers for a minute.
Forged pistons, rods, VVT cam, long tube headers, and a bunch of other lil things.
walk around vid and there should be 1 more video on that profile of it
What’s up challenger fans. Any comments or advice throughout this build would be ok with me as I am no expert. So last week I won a 2019 392 challenger scat pack ta in plum crazy with 7,000 miles for 17,000 salvage Colorado title. I will include prices for people who are maybe interested in...
I did this. I have a ton of info and pics. Its quite a bit to write up so I'd only do it if there was some interest. I'm begging anyone that is going to say "why didn't you just buy a Hellcat?" to keep that to themselves. I wanted a fun project and enjoy the challenge. So lets see...
