Hey guys, I wanted to know y’all suggestions for some red brake caliber cover brands I should use. I was thinking about going with buying red break calibers from the dealership but the price is outrageous. I have a 2020 RT. Lmk y’all’s suggestions!
MGP covers. Available through American Muscle. Mine are 3 years old, perfect shape and I'm transferring them from my'17 to my new '21 when it gets here.
I know opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one...
But to me, caliper covers make less than zero sense. They hide your calipers, and they trap heat. If you want them to stand out, or just look less cruddy, just clean them and paint them. You can do it on the car, and they will look good, if you mask and brush it on. If you go all in and remove them (even still on the hose) , mask and spray, they look real good.
I've read many saying they come loose and if that happens can damage sensor, get caught between wheel and rotors etc.,
Painting them is the way to go Cheaper, Less issues and looks better as Pioneer said...

The covers look fake. The paint looks silly.
If'n ya wanted the Brembo red calipers ya should'a bought the one that had them. [shrug]
I wanted them too, but would have had to order the car, and take the other upgrades that come with them, for thousands of dollars.
IMO most guys aren't really into being a poseur when it gets right down to it. Put a coat of wax on the car instead.
Unless you bought it off the lot, or used, and it had everything else you wanted, that is one thing that is changeable.
Also if you want a color other than black(ish) or red, like say you want to go Plum Crazy in your color choice, they you couldn't have bought them.
I am still stuck on painting mine purple, with the slingshots, they would stand out great.
Calling a person a Poser just because they like something is a rather poor attitude. Financially or Preference is nothing to judge a person for what they choose to do their Ride. JMHO Now if you take an SXT RT and Put Red Eye or Demon crap on it yeah maybe but still a persons Choice Right?
You didn't really read what I posted, did you? You read what YOU wanted it to say. And that's a way worse attitude.
And here you thought I give a crap what they put on their car. LOL
If you want fake crap on your car go for it. I'll not be standing in your way, and my attitude is irrelevant.
looks aside, those "covers" retain a ton of caliper heat, this is very bad for both brake fade and brake life (both caliper & pad).
Thats a heck of a trade off for something thats a borderline cosmetic upgrade...particularly if you drive soemwhat spirited.
Its similar to wrapping a burrito in aluminum foil and baking it. You can touch the foil wrapped burrito taking it out of the over, but the burrito itself is bubbling hot inside.
......Dont be like a burrito.
Love the black hood!
I have the same car, but a '19, Destroyer Grey. It flies under the radar.
I test drove a blue one that had the track pack, big display, the handling package with LSD and big red brembo calipers. Loved the car, would have bought it, but it was about eight grand more than what I paid for mine, and the dealer was a dick to deal with, so no-deal.
They are a really nice driving car. I've owned nearly fifty cars in my driving career, and the Challenger is the best of them all - even over the benzos and porches. 😍
BTW, don't let them drill your bumper...do this instead - stock plate mount, turned over and modified:

I agree, I love dodge vehicles I want to buy a wide body charger next. My cousin owns a vinyl wrap business so he hooked it up with the hood. Here’s another pic but with the full black piece to the top of the bumper. I can’t decide if I want to add the black piece back or not.
Yeah, I like it, would at least run it for a year or two, just for chip protection. I really like the matte-black, or even carbon fiber hood wraps. The double-racing stripe is also a good look. I think I like the smoke-gray even better than the ol' destroyer grey. When I heard they were discontinuing it for 2020, so I couldn't order it, I picked up the '19. Now I've considered a 1320, but just can't bring myself to spend that kind of dough.
I put a clear wrap one on the front lip like that, the good 3M stuff. But it got dull after about 18 months, so I removed it. Easy on and off. Surely keeps the chips away though.
I have been thinking of a black hood-bulge wrap, but vinyl doesn't hold up that well on horizontal surfaces - even the 7-8 year stuff is only good for a couple of years and then starts looking shabby. Well, unless you keep it garaged - mine sits out cuz the garage is full of other toys.
My company does vehicle wraps too. But I would buy ready-made stripes and appliques - they're cheaper and all ready to go. Seems the new Avery stuff is even better than the ol' 3M control-tac. We've done a bunch of those, even a transit bus!
We get some really awesome wraps here in so-Cal, they show up at the local car shows. An all matte-finish is one option, or a well-used race car look, even those rusty-jalopy ones like this, way cool:
That looks sick! I like the rust/saw vibe it gives. I have ppf on the front bumper I removed the black piece for that reason and I was going to put the black piece back on and on top of the ppf but idk. Haven’t made up my mind yet.
I want to have my brake calipers color match painted. Anyone have this done? Did you do it yourself, and how? Or did you have it done, where, and how much was it? How does it look? Thanks so much
Hello all. Havent posted here in ages. But I finally managed to get my hands on a complete set of Brembo takes offs from an 09 SRT part out. I have a 2012 SST (its the SXT plus with the RT brakes and suspension, paddles and better gears in the diff). Ive read the threads on the swap I more or...
Yeah, that's it. Very Weasley's Wizard Wheezes with Purple and Orange, but I like the calipers.
I painted my 2006 Charger's blue
I don't have a good picture though, all I have is 2 horrible ones that you can see them. It was not a color matched blue, but looked good when clean. Better then the stock gray ones when I first got it.
