I thought I would share this with anyone who wants or has tried to make their Hemi "tick" go away. I run this in both of my Hemi's (one mds and one non) and it works decently. I was able to reduce the loudness of the tick by about 70% to 100% depending on how old and hot the oil was. Essentially, after reading a bunch of articles on what causes it I tried a combination of treatments and it seems to work ok.
I run 5w-20 synthetic with a quart of Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer (thinner than their standard oil stabilizer) and I treat the gas with Lucas upper cylinder lubricant (also known as their fuel system cleaner). I have run this on the mds hemi for about 20k miles. Seems to work well - I change the oil every 3k to 4k miles. It is expensive, but, I like the peace of mind and the lack of noise.
Lucas because it saved the life of my Dakota's 318 ... I suppose others would work fine.
