Hi Guys,

I have a 2009 R/T auto with 22,00 miles on it and the Goodyear RSA's are to the wear bars, so it is time to replace them. I have been doing some research and this seems to be in the typical mileage range for heavier performance cars. Most reviews for the RSA'a are not favourable, rated 5.5, due to low mileage, noise and traction issues.

In looking at other brands, I have seen very good reviews on the Hancook Ventus V12 evo K110, rated 8.4, and Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 rated 9.0.

Does anyone out there have experience with these tires, other alternatives or comment??

Thanks

Replacement tires for R/T

Hey Matt at Discount Tire,

I use the car as an every day driver in spring summer and fall. I am looking for a good all around tire for the street with good traction in dry and wet conditions. They should be reasonably quiet as well. I am thinking that 22K miles is not good mileage for the price of these tires, but I didn't do any better with Goodyears on my C5 Corvette neither, so perhaps that's all you get with these kind of cars. OH, and I forgot to mention that these are 20" wheels in case it makes a difference.

Can you comment and what do you recommend? Anyone else have good experience with any other brands?

Thank you for the additional information.

Based on what you have described, I suggest you look into an UHP All-Season Tire. In your OE 245/45-20 size, Yokohama offers their Avid ENVigor which would be an excellent model for your needs. Here's the link with more details.

I'm running Yokohama Parada Spec-X in 255/45r20. They were one of the highest rated tires on a major online tire distributor's site. They are quiet, have good traction and are reasonably priced. Don't let the fact that they are listed as SUV tires fool you!
