Sounds like these R/T packages will be bolt on...

Dodge and Mopar will produce staged performance kits for the Challenger, Charger and the Dart that will include new custom engine controllers. The kits-- available in stages -- are designed to allow enthusiasts to do the work themselves, with the help of the online Scat Pack Club forum, or have it done at a local dealership.

It will be ineresting to see if they have the "Dealer must install to keep warranty" rules like they have had for some mopar performance parts in the past. They will be 2X the cost and 2/3rds the performance for what is already out there in the aftermarket. I ensure you their ECU won't deliver near as much as what you can get out of a custom tune and it will still have some tq mgmnt. Just another way to get service work done at the dealer.

The article doesn't go into what each stage would include, anyone got a link of what is included? A shaker shouldn't add much power to the car overall, engine controller? they talking tuners?

Challenger Scat Packages

Each Scat Pack–eligible Dodge offers three stage kits; the Challenger’s requires the 5.7-liter Hemi engine, naturally.

Scat Package 1 brings a retuned engine calibration, a cold-air intake, cat-back exhaust, and a Scat Package 1 badge.

Scat Package 2 adds a further retuned ECU, a Mopar camshaft, and a Scat Package 2 badge.

Finally, Scat Package 3 mixes Mopar ported and polished heads, high-flow exhaust headers, and an ECU tune to suit its specific upgrades; of course, a Scat Package 3 badge is included.

Dodge’s SEMA Challenger Scat Pack car further amps up things with a bunch of stuff from the Mopar catalog, including 20-inch “Classic II” wheels, a new electronically variable side-exhaust kit (which keeps the pipes going aft, but can reroute sounds and gasses to a pair of side-exit outlets), and an adjustable coil-over suspension.

It looks like they are adding what alot of us already added as upgrades to our cars. The Interior and exterior add ons look interesting, I do wonder what the polished and ported head option adds to the the motor as well as the headers and special cam. At least they've finally decided to offer something to the 5.7 RT's after a long wait.

Hopefully they do a better job with the special exhaust system. The did something similar to the 91 dodge stealth turbos, but the butterfly valves usually rusted in whatever position you tended to leave it in too long. It was kind of neat to switch from a quiet exhaust to a louder one by pushing a button on the dash/console.

Are these packages available for 2015 R/T Challengers?
Only Stage 1 is available now... cold air intake, exhaust, and computer. Stage 2 and 3 aren't out yet.

Contact the parts department or Luke at Steve White Motors, 800-779-3634 or 828-324-4410, Newton NC. They are a supporting vendor on this site and can give you all the answers. Tell them you found their name on Challenger Talk.
