7 quarts of 0w40 synthetic can get expensive. Plus the new filter which can cost around $8 to $10 at the dealer. $95 does not sound too far off.

That's about right for synthetic, the Pennzoil 0W-40 alone is about $10 per quart from dealer.

Thats the European formula... I buy it at wal mart 2 at a time for my oil changes:

Filter, I would suggest ordering off Amazon somewhere. Make sure the filter comes with a new crush ring though.

$95 Is reasonable at the dealer given that this is normally more expensive than your standard Oil.

If you change your oil yourself, you can do it for about $52 ($6 qt. x 7= $42 + $10 filter). The dealer marks up the cost and charges you a high hourly labor rate. That accounts for the $43 difference.

(Note- You can sometimes get by with less than $52 if you find a sale or a manufacturer's rebate).

The local dealer here charges $69. I took it there for the first oil change after purchasing it used.

My wife works for a GM dealership, and I can get the changes done for the cost of the oil and filter. I will take in my own SRT filter, and then the change is only about $25, their cost on the oil. I can't even touch that price, buying the oil at the store. 0w40 isn't cheap, but no oil is really cheap anymore.

If you decide to do it yourself, make sure you get an SRT approved oil filter.
These SRT engines can pump several gallons of oil per minute and it takes a special filter to handle that rate of flow. They also have special bypass valves in them to accommodate the high volume and prevent premature oil bypass.
A standard 392 oil filter will not do.
The Wix part number is 57899.
