Hey Guys,
Having a problem finding a part number for the oil fill access cap on the SPS. In the picture circled in blue.
I've searched the web and most of the forums (boy are there a lot out there!) without any luck.

Even though its a little different.......I stole the oil filter access cap off the wife's Jeep. It fits but I'm going to need to replace it before she finds out. ?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Welcome to Challengertalk. I wasn't even aware it existed. Did some searching and it doesn't come with the baseplate, and isn't listed on that diagram. Perhaps Luke @stevewhite might know?

I searched Steve White parts and another MOPAR parts website, neither showed Shaker intake parts even thought Scat Pack Shaker was specified. Hopefully Luke will jump in here.

Interesting that the cap is from a Jeep. Its not from a wrangler Jeep though, right ? my Rubicon doesn't have anything like that.
Isn't there a number on said cap, you have in the pic ?
I wish I had seen this thread yesterday, I could have looked at mine when I had the Challenger here.
We store the Challenger off site, and its not here today.
But I saw the Chinese/Korean topics ruling the topics yesterday, and I moved on.
Its easier to check oil in a Challenger with a 'Shaker' than adding the actual oil. Its interesting how it is all setup. The Shaker will catch your eye as you drive. It moves just a little from time to time.
If you don't get a part number today, post on here this afternoon, and I will go to where we keep the Challenger and look on the cap for a number for you.
Best regards

Not off a Wrangler. Came out of a V6 Cherokee. Its the oil filter access that on the engine cover. Funny that it fit the shaker perfect! I did get a picture of the number on the the bottom but it doesn't look like a standard MOPAR number (attached). Remember this is the for the Jeep not the one that belongs under the shaker. There should be one marked "Access to oil fill below" not that it really matters but I'd like to keep it as factory as possible.

Now I don't feel so bad. I've searched everywhere and can't find anything referencing this part.

Thanks for the help!!

I tried to take a picture from underneath. I can't pull it apart now. This was the best I could get, and I don't see a part number. I can try again later and see if I can get my phone positioned different while it is still on.

Yup! That's the one I have under there now. Would really like to get the right one. If we can't find it might just hit up the local junk yard to get another one for the wife's Jeep. Can't find the part number for that one either.

I'll probably pull mine off tonight. I haven't done it yet, so might as well. Is there really any difference? Also I see some of the hold down nuts have a blue M, mine are all stainless.

The lingering question is, how did you lose yours?

Didn't lose it. Just bought the car and found it wasn't there.
Guess I'm being a little picky, but it's just getting to me that we can't identify a part number for it.......

AH, gotcha. Yeah, without that, the Shaker is defeated. Hot air can rise into it, and pressurized air (all 1.00001 BAR of it) will leak out of it. I bet they are all the same cap, other than logo or printing on them. I like the MOPAR on that one you pictured.

that's handy info to know the V6 oil fill cover cap is the same as the Shaker one

the shaker version might not be separately available.

only difference is the Shaker version has blue printing about the oil filler is below.

when you have the top scoop [bubble] installed, you'd never see the cover cap

Your probably right. I just like the cool factor of the mopar M.
Besides I'm the only one ( other than the guy that changes my oil) that will know what's really under there. Guess it just my OCD hard at work.

I put my pictures here.
What I suspect is, that caps number is just the mold number, like a sub assembly part. And the only way to buy it from Dodge is to buy the whole base with cap. I get it, I would want to replace it with the blue MOPAR on it as well if mine was missing. But any cap is 99% of the way to being correct compared to a missing one.

From a SHAKER kit I saw this note.
"Use 68149244AA Cap For Oil Fill Access On Shaker Scoop Base Plate. "
And I searched on that part number, and yep, fits about a gazillion and three cars.
SO, if you want the actual MOPAR lettering, I would keep a close look on eBay or some creative searches on Car-Part

THAT'S IT!!
How in the heck did you find that?? With so many out there I should be able to find one somewhere. Maybe I'll get lucky and find one in the local junkyard. :censored:
Thanks for all you did to help find what the part number is. Appreciate it.

Cant believe they used left over v6 parts in the shaker.

Well, first I searched for something like "mopar dodge parts" then opened up the 4 or 5 sites that looked promising, then tried drilling down and failed to find anything.
SO I went out on a limb and actually typed "SHAKER" in the search box on
And changed the results to 250, so got this list, and scrolled down through and noticed that the listing for the 5.7 one had that line about using that cap.
I bet you can't buy one with that printing on it though.
