Washing car today and noticed this under the hood.

Is this crappy quality control or something else?

I can’t picture where I’m looking at. Is it seam sealer? Where the skin of the panel wraps over the support structure?

That's just a void in the seam sealer under the hood. Could have been an air bubble in the line when the robot was applying it.

That's completely acceptable for a mass produced domestic automobile in my opinion.

Thanks everyone. just wanted to make sure I didn't need to take any steps to fix or protect that area. To avoid rust or cracked flaking paint in the future.

I'm thinking it's the right side of the hood, looking back towards the rear with the drivers side door open, and the window in the picture. The window threw me at 1st
