Heard on the radio that there are 15 different models of the Challenger, I don't think any other car has that many choices!!??

That's one of the things we love about it. From the bare bones V6 Fleet rental car, to the fire-breathing Demon, there's a model, engine, transmission, color, stripes, options combination that's perfect for everyone. You can make it old school, or look like a modern tuner, you can be conservative in appearance or bold and attention grabbing. The Dodge Challenger is a microcosm of what it means to live in the U.S.A. You can be anything you want to be.

It's cool that Challenger buyers have so many model choices. In 2008, there was only one- the 6.1 SRT.

This sort of reminds me, back in the late 60s/early 70s, when you could have a choice of 10 different engines:

198 1 bbl.
225 1 bbl.
318 2 bbl.
340 4 bbl.
340 6 pack
383 2 bbl.
383 4 bbl.
440 4 bbl.
440 6 pack
426 Hemi

Yes, this. The Eurocars don't even interest me.

Just got a call from the desk manager at the DODGE dealer I used to work at.

He said Dodge has a special lease on the Scat Packs, nothing down and $340.00 a month including tax and license.

He says Sergio is going to axe Dodge along with Chrysler.

Nevermind that Dodge's sales numbers have been growing, makes no sense to axe them

I think that Chrysler may be axed, but Dodge will survive. Sergio was quoted as saying that FCA will focus on Jeeps and Dodge Rams as its profit leaders.

Same desk manager told me tonight that DODGE is losing about $3,000 on every Challenger it sells...........he thinks Sergio is going to axe DODGE, I hope he's wrong.

It's curious that FCA claims it is losing $3,000 on every Challenger. The Challenger is selling well (especially the SXT model) and all of the tooling has, basically, been the same for 12 years (i.e., 2008-2019).

I too am curious about that, I don't buy it at all. Why would they continue producing a car that they're losing that much money on? Or why not find cheaper/easier methods of manufacturing and/or suppliers?

While I can’t verify or discredit the information regarding loosing $3,000 on every Challenger built, I can say for certain without question as I run a business myself- You can’t and won’t sell that kind of volume at a loss for no reason. If Fiat is as tight as I hear there is, NO WAY they would put up with that. Period.

Right....that's why the rumour in the industry is that he'll kill DODGE along with Chrysler.
Don't get me wrong, I hope it doesn't happen!

Sergio likes the Dodge Ram, however, as a profit maker and wants it to surpass Ford's F150 as the top selling pick-up. I don't see that happening. The nation's truck community loves the F150.

Dodge and RAM are separate divisions.

Yes, but Dodge's sales are still up by 4% from last year.
According to this link when you scroll down,DODGE sales have been down last 4 years from a high of just over 600,000 in 2013. They ae down 159,000 units since 2013, that's quite a bit.
Looking at it from another angle, DODGe had over 7% of the market share in 2003, they're down to just 2.5% now.
and down even more this year so far, doesn't look good.
