I totally got curious about this, while possibly planning a slight upgrade to this black hole called car audio (my poor wallet...😅). That said, we never talk much about how much RMS were putting on these 160, 180 or 220 alternators that come with most of the challengers.

Ill go first!

160 amp alt - 1100 watts (XD600/6v2 + RD500/1 for sub). No extras. No issues whatsoever.

What about you guys?

I have the 220A alt in my Chargers, and the most I’ve asked them push was 1300 watts RMS IIRC.

  • JL Audio amp pushing 4x75w
  • Polk Audio sub amp pushing 1000w

I did have some issues with headlights dimming on heavy bass notes at first, but I was able to find the problem connections with some drop voltage testing and get everything working without any more problems.
