Some are excellent, and they know the cars more than most general shops that work on a hundred different vehicles.Dealer bodyshops aren't something special. They are just small bodyshops attached to a dealer. Most don't even follow the procedures of their own product lines.
I know when my Caprice was rear ended, I took it to the local Chevy dealer, and they specialized on renewing Caprices for the State Police, so they were very knowledgeable on those inside and out.
