I have the basic head unit in my 09 SRT8, and the sound is more off than on. Occasionally it works, then just cuts off, all power to the head unit stays, and I can flick through the menus etc, but no sound.

Any ideas as to what could be the issue?

Thanks in advance.

When this happens, do you loose the seatbelt chimes and such as well?

I always have my belt on, but will double check when the car comes back from the workshop.

Shut off car and leave headlights on, etc. Any warning/notification chime. Assuming since you say basic head unit, so no Nav? Navigation voice prompts would be another. A Guy

Ok, so, still get seatbelt chime.

Local specialist thinks the amp could be finished.

Is the Chrysler 300C amp the same?

Very hard to get one in the UK.

If I bypass the amp, and set up a new system, it will cost me somewhere like $1200 to do, I'd be happier replacing the amp only at this stage.
