Sport mode not working after software upgrade

Need help! My Scat packs software "upgraded" last night and now I can no longer select sport mode for the engine. In other words when I'm in sport mode I can only change the traction to sport and steering to sport, when selected for engine it goes back to default. I no longer have that deep exhaust note that I love so much. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi dharley77,

Can you provide more information about the update? Was this the over the air update?

I have the same thing happening with my 2015 Dodge Challenger 6 speed Scat. I can no longer select sport mode for the engine. In other words when I'm in sport mode I can only change the traction to sport and steering to sport, when selected for engine it goes back to default. I believe it was a few months ago when I got the over the air update. How do I get the issue resolved? Do I need to talk to someone in DodgeCares? I do not have a warranty on the vehicle, is this covered at the dealership?

Same situation happened to me. 2015 scat . 6 speed my. Over the air update yesterday . Will not stay in engine sport setting at all. Car not the same after update. All other sport settings seem to stay and work. Very disappointed as I always drive in full sport settings. Dodge please advise .

Had radio unit replaced today . Engine sport setting still not saving and goes back to "street". Next step is more detailed investigation with dodge hooked up to some other diagnostic computers they say. Anyone had any luck with this problem being resolved? Car does not drive the same after update.

Hi gqmoneygrip,

If you wanted to have a customer care case opened with us so we can follow up with your dealership, we're happy to make that happen. Is your Challenger still at the dealership right now? If so, send a PM with your VIN and the dealership name.

Dealer keeps saying no one has seen something like this at Dodge after having my car plugged in all day. Dodge wants a screen shot of what is happening. I'm sure this is happening to thousands of other Challengers who have not figured out that their sport settings for the engine are all messed up. Let's hope Dodge hears all of these issues and gets it fixed fast. My dealer said there is absolutely no way to go back to a previous version of the software. I had no issues with the previous software and the car was running amazing. I don't need the Uconnect or any of its features except the sport mode! I have several high-end cars and I tried to stay away from cars that have these unnecessary computers and the ones that have everything integrated into a navigation system radio/system. If I could have ordered this car without the navigation screen I would have. I would prefer just analog gauges in its place. I don't need the navigation screen or all the other hassles that come along with it. Amazing how one little software line error can ruin a car.

Lo and behold, I've turned SRT pages off and the SRT boot up screen continues to show regardless of what setting I have it on or off and the traction options (normal or sport) for the default sport mode are gone.

****ing dandy. Also hot as balls outside so trying to fiddle with it in 90 degree heat isn't helping.

Taking the time to upgrade the firmware while I'm at it.

Well it doesn't seem to think it has heated seats anymore.

Does everyone's sport mode set up look like this?

I'm trying to figure out if the traction control option that was there before is now gone due to the update or because of Tazer.

I have software version 16.09.09.

P.S. I held the upper right corner for a good 30 seconds and it did nothing.

You have to go in the engineer menu by holding the driver side temperature UP + Down button for like 10 seconds. The full reset option will be available there and don't worry your uConnect will appear in blue without any options, you have to do a couple of full ON/Off car cycles to get the unit detecting all your options.

The upper right corner secret menu is for 2017+ only.

Also I have a canadian 2015 RT Shaker and I did the update by myself with an USB key because here we don't have OTA (Over the Air) update and so far I don't have any issue. I'm really happy that dodge gave us the new 2016 interface.

List my vehicle as another causality of the forced over the air software update.

2015 Challenger Scat Pack
6 speed manual transmission

"Engine" in Sport mode is now disabled. You can select it but it is not retained or functional.

Active Exhaust disabled in sport mode.

Steering is active under Sport mode. Only engine mode is effected.

Main screen of Performance Control now list engine as "street" in lieu of Sport as in before update.

In the pic you will notice "street" is not capitalized as all the other listings are.

The vehicle was functioning properly before this forced software update.

The vehicle was on and being driven during the entire 1 hour and 15 minute process.

I was on version 16.16.13 to and updated to 17.11.07 after putting in my VIN on the download WEB site. I keep all files, documentation etc for everything I do. I still have the 16.16.13 update files.
Are you saying I CAN, put 16.16.13 on a USB stick and "rollback" so to speak?

Here is what I noticed so far from my UConnect download update:

1. The SD card containing my music is now being read by the Infotainment system differently. I had music in folders (multiple songs by the same artists) and single files (individual songs) which were previously all alphabetized by the system regardless of whether or not they were contained in a folder. With the update, the songs contained in the folders were alphabetized A-Z on my play list then the single file songs were alphabetized A-Z appended on the play list after the last song contained in the folders. Corrected by re-configuring SD card to remove all the folders and place all the songs on the card as single items.

2. Default mode and sport mode configurations were set back to factory default. Corrected by re-entering configurations into Performance Settings. I have moved the Performance Settings to my Main Menu using the new "drag and drop" feature so I can check to be sure the changes stick.

You can select sport mode for the engine selection and it will highlight (but not enable it), but as soon as you leave the page and renter then nothing is selected. It does not even revert back to normal. There is nothing highlighted as indicated in my pic.

I select sport mode every time I drive and know how the throttle instantly reacts and the exhaust tone changes especially if you in first gear and driving in my parking lot.

That pic was taken after engine sport mode was selected, then exit page, then immediately renter the page. I have verified this multiple times.

The selection for steering retains its setting in either sport or normal.
