Trade in value!!! There are many sources out there you can use to see what you'll get for your car when you trade it in (personally I use kbb.com). As for the Hellcat... you'll be lucky to get a '15 Hellcat for MSRP.what can one expect when trading in a srt8 on a hellcat?
Dealer greedy profit!!!!I went to KBB, NADA and several others to see what I could get for trade on my 2011 SRT8 IE Challenger. The dealership offered me $4000 less than what these sites say are the average trade in value. This seems to happen every time I trade in a car, websites say what the fair average is, dealers act like I slapped their momma when I ask for the fair trade in value KBB, NADA etc show. Where do these websites get their values from if no dealership will actually trade for these values?
They get the values from people who trade in the cars... Who takes the dealer's stupid first, second, or even third offer? Not me... Almost every time I buy a car I spend 3-4 hours negotiating and sometimes over several days... When I bought my GMC Acadia last year I ended up $4,500 better than the dealer's initial offer. When I sold my wife's 2010 SRT-8 to a dealer I got $5,000 more than their first offer. When I bought my 2011 Avalon a few years back trading in my Ford 500 I got $4,800 better than their initial offer.I went to KBB, NADA and several others to see what I could get for trade on my 2011 SRT8 IE Challenger. Bingo. Good call sir. It's the oldest trick in the book. Dealers intentionally lowball your trade. it puts you on the defensive, and makes you think less analytically. Entire books have been written on the subject. The best move is to negotiate the vehicle purchase price, the trade in price, and the financing separately. Dealers try to mix all three up so you get confused.
Just come back at them with an offer $4k over what the fair trade in value is. Meet in the middle and you win.
:guiness:
I used to have that attitude, but I do not anymore. It's just negotiation so I just low-ball them back and things turn around, and if they don't then I leave...Somebody lowballs my trade I walk out. No need to haggle.
Since I already ordered my Hellcat from them I can't really walk out. I either need to trade in there, or sell it outright elsewhere.Somebody lowballs my trade I walk out. No need to haggle.
Did you not figure your trade-in with the dealership before ordering your HC?Since I already ordered my Hellcat from them I can't really walk out. I either need to trade in there, or sell it outright elsewhere.
No, originally I was planning to keepi current SRT8 and get the Hellcat. But plans change as they say and now I'm looking to sell or trade in the current SRT8.Did you not figure your trade-in with the dealership before ordering your HC?
I was just wondering. Too bad you can't keep your current SRT 8.No, originally I was planning to keepi current SRT8 and get the Hellcat. But plans change as they say and now I'm looking to sell or trade in the current SRT8.

So, go to the Dodge website, build your Hellcat ---> take that figure and subtract the trade in value... Voila! Expectation given! :bigthumb:
