What's happening over at Stack?

Ryan wouldn't return phone calls or e-mails so I kind of gave up doing more business with them even though I know they are a great shop.

I always figured he just has a lot on his plate and was spread thin. Kind of sad because Ive spent a small fortune elsewhere.

My buddy needed a tune and some other mods done on his car, so I recommended Stack. He called me back and said that not only did they not return phone calls and blew him off after several attempts that when he finally got to speak with them, Ryan said that Stack is going into a different direction as in selling parts and manufacturing. Any tunning will be subcontracted out to ST motorsports.

Kind of sucks if thats true.

They just recently moved (but it seems you're aware of that). Ryans a good guy, but this economy, SoCal is a real nightmare and covering a ton of overhead is no easy feat. I don't blame him at all for downsizing for the time being.

I didn't know that Stack had moved, thanks for the heads up. I did know that ST Motorsports has a new shop. Seems like most of the Hemi shops I've worked with in our area are always super busy with long lead times. It's been difficult to get quotes or any kind of service, I must be in the minority.

I just bought a product from them and apparently I ordered the Charger version and not the Challenger version. They called me but I didn't have my phone on me to verify my order. I called the next day and they answered right away and we talked about my order and he corrected it an hour before it was getting shipped out. I thought they did an excellent job! Still am waiting on my product but it had to get made (cf radiator cover), so it should be here any day.

Ryans passion has always been design and fabrication and that is the direction he is moving towards. Can't blame a guy for following his passions.

I don't think he is intentionally blowing anyone off, but he is moving shops, opening a new portion to his business, and has several other things on his plate.

Im sure once the dust clears a little and he can breath again, things will balance out.

I was down there last Friday and Ryan was able to take care of me and my Chally on short notice. I contacted SP through their website, and he called me back within an hour or two - talked to me about some work I wanted to have done, then called me back again after checking with his crew to see if they could fit me in. I ended up driving down and spending a few hours at the new shop. He was still working his way out of boxes and possibly had some trouble with the phone transfer to the new location.

While I was waiting on some work to be done, he kept pretty busy following up with customers on the phone. I left with a very good impression of the business. I understand it probably feels different being out of state and ordering parts vs. being able to get on site and one on one.

Was over at his new shop today. Had springs and a bullet CAI installed. Took them 3 hours. No problems getting in touch and setting up a time to get the work done.

Good to hear positive reviews, the point of the thread was to point out that part sales were his main focus and he no longer tunes in house.

Customer service is a case by case, in my experiance it was frustrating over a course of 3 months. With my buddy , his car would die on him and he needed immediate attention and it wasn't there.

I had no idea Stack had moved that explains Alot.

Good day to you.

I know exactly who you are speaking of and I appreciate your referral. Thwn he first called, I had 2 people here with me and was unable to speak. By the time I was cleared up, it was 7:30 in the evening. I called the next morning and his phone was dead, he called me 1-2 hours later and we spoke. During this call I let him know that we are not tuning inhouse at this time and to assist him, I would set-up with Adam at ST to get him taken care of. I asked what days are best and told him I would do the leg work to set up an appt. After speaking to Adam last night, we'll be working out a time and day for Orlando to drop off his car and be tuned. I did all I could to accommodate to him and am comfortable with the level of service provided.

As for Stack using Adam for our tuning. We work very closely with Adam and he is a very trusted source of tuning. We have decided to sell our dyno to allow room for growth in our next venture of parts mfg and design. For our Stage 1 and Stage 2 cars, we will be renting dyno time locally during the evenings and Adam will be tuning our higher HP cars with his expertise.

We have been Hemi specialists since day 1 and have had a great time doing it. We have remained a low-key, mom & pop style shop and have always gone out of our way to service our customers. We called within 24 hours, I apologize if this was more than you were expecting. It was not our intention to disservice you.

Thanks for everyone's patience during our relocation and set-up.

chukarboy,
I am sure your friend will get hooked up and taken care of. I have talked to Ryan about 5 times in the last week. Most the time I call Stack they answer and if they are busy they return your call within the day. Their customer service is top notch, they will treat the guy that has a low budget that just buys a catch can the same as they would to the guy who buys a 426 stroker and blower, that's what I love about them. Must have just called Ryan at a bad time, they are slammed over there with a ton of crap to move. I just installed a vortech sc in my car and I only let Ryan and his crew touch my cars for any tunnng, but since they sold their Dyno, he recommended me to Adam at ST, anybody who Ryan trust, I will trust. I will be seeing Adam too in a few weeks for some blower tunning.

Ryan and his crew will get your friend taken care of.

I think this is typically the case no matter what area you are in. I think Ford & Chevy performance has always been much easier to obtain than Mopar. It's no wonder these Hemi performance shops are overwhelmed with so few of them around.

Cudo's to Ryan and gang. Ryan is a man of his word and pulled thru for me. Probably the best customer service i've experienced. Just got my 426 back today after being in service for a while. Don't need to get into it. But Ryan did well!!!!!

What the hell is all the ball bustin about??? Ryan has moved shop and is still getting setup!! He has always been topnotch and has helped me out many times. I had a race coming up with no swaybars for my setup and SP had just sold the last "chubby pro" they had but it hadn't been shipped yet. Ryan called the customer and told him my situation, the customer was cool enough to give me his sway bars and wait for the new batch. Ryan setup an install date and 3hrs later I was rolling on a new coilover setup with "chubby pros" and YES I made my race:thumbsup: Thanks Ryan!!

amen lowwlife! serioulsy man, enough about stack's customer service. Give them a call, if you need something. I said it many times already, I talk to Ryan all the time, no issues, leave a message if you cant get through and you will get a reply. They are trying to get their new place up and running, they dont need post's like this anymore circulating in the forums. their new number is on their site. :boohoo:
