Im looking at some 2010s and was just wondering if Dodge ever solved the stalling issue so many have reported.

....I haven't heard of a fix or an explanation of the actual cause yet.

I thought I read that they fixed that. I have a 2010 R/T 6 Speed I got a few weeks ago and have never experienced the problem.

....the stalling issue folks have been reporting (and I think what the OP is referring to) is with the autos. If they have fixed it, it is news to me. If you have a link, please post it. ....I have the problem.

...no idea. Here are just a couple of threads on the subject though:

http://www.challengertalk.com/forums/f5/my-challenger-damn-near-caused-accident-40541/

There was a member at one point that had Chrysler engineers looking at his car to try and identify the root cause but he left the forum due to heckling from some members IIRC. It's a shame because there are quite a few of us who are desperate for answers.

SRT engineers said it was something with the software and that an update was coming along (this was about 4 months ago). More than likely an issue with part throttle tune. There was also mention of this happening to people as they were conducting a slow turn. SRT engineers have stated that the power steering pumps have shown to fail on the 6.1L engines. It's probably why you see the new engines getting the HD power steering pump.

I've only experienced it now with ESP Partially off after driving a long time on the highway and then coming to a slow stop. It has occurred on 6-speeds and autos.

Hopefully they will have a fix.

I've only experienced this once, while slowing down and entering a left turn. Only had 1500 miles on the car and it kinda freaked me out. Approaching 6000 miles now and it hasn't happened again, but I will bring it up with the dealer when I bring it in for its 6000 mile check up.

When I had my 09 RT w/auto tranny I noticed that when slowing down to make a turn, the engine rpm's would drop off suddenly. It never stalled, but it didn't seem far from doing it. Also, I had an issue whenever hitting the brakes (when slowing down) that the headlights would flicker (dim) momentarily. I had read on the forum that several members here had these same issues. Now I'm wondering if somehow these may be all connected.:scratchhead:

Add me as of this afternoon to the stall list. My SRT has less than 900 miles on it and it happened when slowly turning to back into my driveway.

I have a 2010 RT. Had 3 stalls about 4 months ago and took it in. They couldnt find anything. Had a stall this morning and took it. They told me this afternoon that there was an update to the comp and that it was supposed to address the stalls. We shall see.

I was @ the facebook group Furious Fuchsia - Challengers and I see that other challenger owners have had this issue. I have filed a report with the NHTSA about the engine stalling. I would suggest that everyone that has had a problem, file a complaint to make them aware of the engine stall, then maybe they can Chrysler take notice.

is there a particular mileage that this starts at?
....no. Mine did it within the first week of ownership (with ~ 200 miles IIRC). It also seems to be intermittent/random and non-repeatable. Mine has done it 3 times over the last 20k miles (and 16 months).

happened first time with mine with less than 20 miles on the clock. It didn't happen again for almost a year, then it stalled twice in same day, haven't seen it happen since then. All three times for me it was slowing to make a right hand turn. Half way thru turn engine dies, power steering and brakes stop working, once stopped it starts right back up. Just disconcerting that if it happened with cars present in the middle of the turn could end up with an accident.

Will the stalling issue show up on a Carfax?

I'm about close a deal on a 2010 RT Classic (automatic trans) with 13k miles. The Carfax report looks good. It has only one private owner and nothing but oil changes and tire rotations in the service history.

If the car had been serviced for the stalling issue it would show up on the Carfax, right?

NO...Carfax shows damage to a car. Call a Dodge dealer and have him run the VIN#. The dealer can tell you.
