Good day all, be most grateful for your ideas on best way to start up the engine after new pistons fitted and rods, I thought of not fitting the fuel line and just turn over the engine to get new oil every where
in the old days I just used a drill and made up a long bar with a piece fitted to turn the oil pump
Its on my SRT 8 392 2014
any help would be very welcome and safe
any one done the same??

pull the fuse for the fuel pump (and there's one for injectors as well) crank engine until oil pressure shows.

The connect fuse for fuel pump and fuel injectors (check for leaks since you've taken things apart) and fire it up.

The oil pump is driven off the crank on these engines. Cranking the engine is the only way to prime / pre-oil before start up

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that if you press the accelerator to the floor while pushing the start button it will turn over but not start (at least on my 2014 SRT8).
