You'll have to take it in to get it fix under warranty. That's been a problem with them. I had mine stuck open to in vent mode.

Welcome to CT. :)

If you do a thread search there was a rash of these issues about a year ago. Ours was in a similar boat as the poster above. Thing was stuck in vent I tried for an hour to get it closed. Brought it to the dealer guy walked out hit the button and it shut for him. -___- It's been a year and no issues since but I recall a few people having something replaced or fixed. good luck!

Had this happen to my old '09 R/T. Took it in for a full replacement sunroof under warranty.

lol... This just happened to me this weekend. Taking my daughter to horse riding lessons and the weather was great so I decided to open up the sunroof but I accidently hit the vent button. I tried to close the vent by hitting it again and I could hear a clicking noise coming about a foot or two behind the sunroof (guessing that's where the motor is). Tried turning the car off a couple of times but it didn't help. So I disconnected the battery for about 15 seconds or so then it started working again. Couldn't get it to happen again after that.

I also noticed a couple of weeks after I bought it that the sunroof would leak. It never dripped on me. I just happened to look up at the sunroof and saw some drops along the sides. The water was pooling up on top of the ceilings retractable visor (again where I then the motor to the sunroof resides). When having the sunroof all the way retracted you could see a rubber buildup on the metal rim where the seal would take place when closed. Removed that buildup and the leak was fixed.

went out after work and it worked again. didn't do anything. for the record, it wasn't hot when stuck, wasn't hot when it started again, and worked after an 8 hour delay, but not after a 20 second restart when i discovered it this morning (ghost in the machine?). anyway, thanks to all of you for your suggestions.

Sun Roof will not close

Just had this happen to me. I tilted open then it would not close, just a taunting clicking sound when I would press the buttons. Since the fuses were by the battery I just disconnected the 10mm nut for the red + lead going to the fuse box for about a miniute. After reconnecting all was well and running fine.:bigthumb:

Mine failed wide open. I had it open for a few hours with the radio on while I was washing, etc. It could only close about .5" with ever forward button press.. but I went too far and it open into vent position. Then it was stuck there. I could not do anything but pull in into the garage (yeah I was pissed). This car apparently has multiple computer modules that control each independent system; the sunroof one apparently went flaky. I let it sit overnight, then was about to drive to the dealer when I tried to close it and it worked! go figure... I think the 'fuse' method is a good way to try to resolve any of these system failures as it will put that system in reset and hopefully back into normal working order. Good Luck!.

One time, my vent button was all that would work. It would move a little with each push. Ultimately, it was stuck open. About an hour later I tried again and it worked and has worked since. I mentioned it to the dealer, they hooked it up and saw a code.
The new motor just came in. I need to try to get it over there to get it fixed.

Add me to the list - 2010 R/T - sunroof stuck in the vent position. Would move a little up, but not down, with each push. Would not close/open.
Luckily, I had long ago seen this thread and "subscribed" to it, so referencing the information from all the earlier posts was a snap! I stood ready to pull fus #44 in the trunk but first went back out to the car after some down time (obviously I tried repeatedly to close/open when it first happened - restarting the car - you name it). Initially it did nothing. I opened the door, closed it, put the key in accessory mode and it moved down a little. I did the same again - slamming the door this time, key back to accessory mode and I'll be damned if it didn't work perfectly - no matter which function I called for, it worked like new.
You can bet I'll bring this up to my dealer - first I need to find one I trust. Last experience was not a good one!
